    Pharmacodynamics:

    Metrogex® is a drug for the treatment and prevention of inflammatory periodontal diseases and oral mucosa. The effectiveness of the drug is due to the presence in its composition of two antibacterial components.

    Metronidazole, a derivative of nitroimidazole, has a high activity against anaerobic bacteria that cause periodontal disease: Porphyromonas gingivalis, Prevoiella intermedia, Prevotella denticola, Fusobacterium fusiformis, Wolinella recta, Treponema spp., Eikenella corrodens, Borrelia vincenti, Bacteroides melaninogenicus, Selenomonas spp.

    Chlorhexidine - antiseptic broad spectrum, has a bactericidal effect. Active against the vegetative forms of gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms, as well as yeast, dermatophytes and lipophilic viruses
    Pharmacokinetics:

    With topical application of the drug Metrogex ®, the active substances are practically not subjected to systemic absorption and do not have a systemic effect.

    Indications:

    Inflammatory diseases of periodontal and oral mucosa:

    - acute and chronic gingivitis;

    - acute necrotic ulcerative gingivitis of Vincent;

    - acute and chronic periodontitis;

    - juvenile periodontitis;

    - parodontosis, complicated by inflammation;

    - aphthous stomatitis;

    - pulpitis;

    - cheilitis;

    - inflammation of the oral mucosa during the wearing of prostheses;

    - postextraction alveolitis (inflammation of the hole after tooth extraction).

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, as well as to the derivatives of nitroimidazole.

    Dosing and Administration:

    The drug is intended only for use in dental practice.

    Adults and children over 6 years of age with gingival inflammation (gingivitis), Metrogex® gel is applied to the gum area 2 times a day, it is not recommended to rinse the gel. The duration of treatment is an average of 7-10 days. After applying the gel, you should refrain from drinking and eating for 30 minutes.

    When parodontitis, after removal of dental deposits, the periodontal pockets are processed with Metrogex® gel and the gel is applied to the gum area. Exposure time - 30 minutes. The number of procedures depends on the severity of the disease. In the future, the patient's gel can be applied on his own. Metrogex® is applied to the gum area twice a day for 7-10 days.

    With aphthous stomatitis gel Metrogex® is applied to the affected area of ​​the oral mucosa 2 times a day for 7-10 days.

    To prevent exacerbations of chronic gingivitis and periodontitis The Metrogex® gel is applied to the gum area 2 times a day for 7-10 days. Preventive courses of treatment are carried out 2-3 times a year.

    For prevention of postextraction alveolitis after removal of the tooth, the well is treated with Metrogex® gel, then the gel is applied on an outpatient basis 2-3 times a day for 7-10 days.

    Side effects:

    With the local application of the Metrogex® gel, the risk of developing systemic side effects is small, but sometimes there may be: metallic taste in the mouth, headache, allergic reactions (skin rash, itching, urticaria).

    Interaction:

    When topical application in the recommended doses of systemic interaction of the Metrogex® gel with other drugs is not revealed.

    Special instructions:

    The use of the Metrogex® gel does not replace hygienic cleaning of teeth, therefore during the course of treatment with the drug, tooth cleaning should be continued.

    Avoid contact with eyes.
