    Pharmacodynamics:

    Selectively inhibits the activity of the isoenzyme cyclooxygenase-2, thereby inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins E2, which cause the development of inflammation, swelling and pain. Has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic effect.

    Has no effect on the isoenzyme cyclooxygenase-1, therefore in therapeutic doses does not affect the physiological processes in the gastrointestinal tract and the function of thrombocytes.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    After oral administration, it is rapidly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. The maximum concentration in the blood plasma is achieved in 2-3 hours. The connection with plasma proteins is 97%.

    Penetrates through the blood-brain and placental barrier, is found in breast milk.Metabolism in the liver.

    The half-life is 8-12 hours. Elimination by the kidneys in the form of metabolites.

    Indications:

    It is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and polyarthrosis.

    Contraindications:

    Severe renal and hepatic insufficiency, individual intolerance, children under 18 years of age.

    Recommendations for FDA - Category C. Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Inside for 100 mg 2 times a day; the recommended dose for rheumatoid arthritis is 200 mg 2 times a day.

    The highest daily dose: 400 mg.

    Side effects:

    Central and peripheral nervous system: dizziness, headache, sleep disorders, depression, agitation, hallucinations.

    Respiratory system: reduced resistance to respiratory tract infections, bronchospasm, shortness of breath, cough.

    Hemopoietic system: anemia, agranulocytosis, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia.

    The cardiovascular system: tachycardia, arterial hypertension.

    Digestive system: bleeding gums with prolonged use.

    Dermatological reactions: hyperhidrosis, photosensitivity, alopecia.

    Sense organs: tinnitus, hearing loss.

    Urinary system: edematic syndrome, renal failure.

    Allergic reactions.

    Overdose:

    Increased side effects.

    Treatment is symptomatic.

    Interaction:

    Drugs that inhibit the activity of the isoenzyme CYP2C9 (fluconazole), increase the concentration of celecoxib in the blood plasma.

    With simultaneous use with warfarin increases the risk of bleeding.

    Special instructions:

    In patients with peptic ulcers of the stomach or duodenum, treatment can begin only after a complete cicatrization of the ulcer.

    In the treatment it is not recommended to drive vehicles and work with moving mechanisms.
