    A.01.A.B.12   Hexetidine

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Thiamine antagonist, suppresses oxidative reactions of bacteria metabolism. Active against gram-positive bacteria and fungi of the genus Candida. Has a hemostatic and weak anesthetic effect on the mucous membrane.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    Aerosol for topical application, adheres on the mucous membrane, is not absorbed, does not have systemic effect on the body.

    After a single application, the effect lasts for 10-12 hours.

    Indications:

    It is used for the treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx, with oropharyngeal candidiasis, bleeding gums, as an auxiliary for ARVI treatment, for oral cavity treatment in trauma, before and after surgical interventions.

    Contraindications:

    Atrophic pharyngitis, individual intolerance, children under 5 years of age, pregnancy (I trimester).

    High individual sensitivity.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Use of the drug during pregnancy is possible if the potential benefit to the mother exceeds the risk to the fetus. If you need to use the drug during lactation, you should decide whether to stop breastfeeding.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Locally, after eating, 2 times a day: morning and evening.

    The undiluted solution (10-15 ml) used for rinsing or washing the throat for 30 seconds or applied with a cotton swab on the affected areas.

    Side effects:

    Nausea with accidental ingestion, burning of the mucous membrane of the mouth, with prolonged use - a violation of taste.

    Allergic reactions.

    Overdose:

    Cases of overdose are not described.

    Treatment is symptomatic.
