Polifan - instructions for use, doses, side effects, contraindications

Polyphan® is a natural enterosorbent consisting of a product of hydrolysis of wood components of lignin polymer, the structural elements of which are derivatives of phenylpropane and hydrocellulose.

In the lumen of the gastrointestinal tract, Polyphan® binds and removes pathogenic bacteria and bacterial toxins, drugs, poisons, heavy metal salts, alcohol, food allergens from the body. The drug also absorbs excess of some metabolic products, including bilirubin, cholesterol, urea, metabolites, responsible for the development of endogenous toxicosis.

Pharmacokinetics:

Polyphan® is non-toxic, not absorbed, completely eliminated from the intestine within 24 hours.

Indications:

Polyphan is used as a detoxifier for exogenous and endogenous toxicoses of various origins.

To provide first aid for acute poisoning with drugs, alkaloids, heavy metal salts, alcohol and other poisons.

In the complex treatment of food toxic infections. salmonellosis, dysentery dysbacteriosis, dyspepsia, as well as purulent-inflammatory diseases, accompanied by intoxication.

With hepatic and renal failure (hyperbilirubinemia and hyperaemia). The drug can be used to treat food and drug allergies. It is used to remove xenobiotics from the body.

Contraindications:

Individual intolerance to the drug. It is undesirable to use the drug for exacerbation of gastric ulcer and 12-duodenal ulcer, intestinal atony, anacid gastritis.

Dosing and Administration:

The drug is used inside an hour before eating and taking other medications, stirring the powder in 50-100 mg of water or squeezed with water.

The daily dose of the drug depends on the severity of the disease, age and body weight and is 0.5-1.0 g / kg body weight per day in 3 divided doses.

Average single doses: for infants 0.5-1 teaspoon per reception; from 1 to 7 years - 1 dessert spoon; from 7 years and older, as well as adults - 1 tablespoon per reception 3-4 times a day.

Duration of treatment for acute conditions 3-5 days, with allergic diseases and chronic intoxications up to 14 days.

If necessary, repeated courses of treatment are possible after two weeks on the recommendation of a doctor.

Side effects:

In rare cases, there are constipation, allergic reactions.

Long-term use of enterosorbent (more than 20 days) can lead to impaired absorption of vitamins, calcium, and therefore recommended the preventive intake of multivitamins and calcium preparations.

Interaction:

It is possible to reduce the absorption of some concomitantly used drugs, in connection with which it is recommended to observe an interval of 1 to 1.5 hours between admission Polifan® and other medicines.

Packaging:

100 g or 500 g per package of material combined or in an opaque package ofcolored polyethylene film for food products on which labels are glued or labeled in a typographical way.

Each package, along with instructions for medical use, is placed in a pack of cardboard.

Storage conditions:

Shelf life:
