Pieces of stems, leaves and inflorescences passing through a sieve with apertures measuring 7 mm. Color grayish green. The smell is weak. The taste of water extract is bitterish.

Pharmacodynamics:

Contains essential oil, tannins, flavonoids (rutin, quercitrin, hyperoside, etc.), iridoids, saponins, ascorbic acid, carotene, macro and microelements and other biologically active substances.

Herb infusion of motherwort has a pronounced sedative effect, has hypotensive properties, slows down the rhythm and increases the strength of heartbeats.

Indications:

Infusion of herb Leonurus is used as a sedative with increased nervous excitability, sleep disorders, neurasthenia, neurocirculatory dystonia.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the drug, pregnancy, children under 12 years.

Dosing and Administration:

About 5 g (1 tablespoon) herbage motherwort put enamel dishes, pour 100 ml (1/2 cup) of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and insist on a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, filter, left raw materials squeeze out. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 100 ml with boiled water. Take inside 1/2 cup 3 times a day for 1 hour before meals.

Before use, the infusion should be shaken.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions are possible.

Interaction:

Compatible with other sedatives; enhances the effect of hypnotics and other medications that depress the central nervous system.

With prolonged use in large doses, it is possible to reduce psychomotor reactions, which should be taken into account when driving vehicles, working with mechanisms, etc.
