    Pharmacodynamics:

    Rheumont cream for external use contains 10% (by weight) of ethofenamate, which has pronounced anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. Efenafetat - non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, the action of which is based on the fact that it indiscriminately suppresses cyclooxygenase 1 and 2 types, disrupts the metabolism of arachidonic acid. As a result, the synthesis of prostaglandins is inhibited and the formation of inflammatory mediators is reduced.

    Etophenamate is lipophilic in nature, which causes its good penetration through the skin. Concerning etofenamate is used mainly in preparations intended for external use.

    Etophenamate penetrates the skin and is distributed in the affected tissue, in which it reaches therapeutic concentrations. Maximum concentrations of ethofenamate in plasma (19-31 ng / ml) are achieved after a single application of 3 grams of Rheumont cream after 12 - 24 hours after application. The relative bioavailability of the drug does not exceed 20%.

    Etopenamate is excreted by the kidneys, and through the intestine in the form of its metabolites and their compounds.

    Indications:

    Rheumont cream for external use is prescribed in the following cases:

    - Closed injuries, bruises, sports injuries, injuries of soft tissues and joints;

    - Arthrosis, arthrosis of the knee joints (gonarthrosis), osteoarthritis, periarthritis of the shoulder joint, epicondylitis, lumbago;

    - Spondyloarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, tendonitis, tenosynovitis, and peritendinitis.

    Contraindications:

    - Povppnaya sensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs, anamnestic data on an attack of bronchial obstruction, rhinitis, urticaria after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs;

    - Pregnancy, lactation;

    - Children's age (due to lack of clinical data);

    Carefully:

    Erosive-ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, severe violations of liver and kidney function, chronic heart failure, bronchial asthma, elderly age.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Revmon cream for external use is contraindicated during pregnancy, since it is established that etofenamate penetrates the placental barrier.

    During the period of application of Revmont cream for external use, lactating mothers should refuse breastfeeding.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Rheumont cream for external use is prescribed by local apply directly to diseased areas, distributing the cream as much as possible over a larger area. A strip of cream 5-10 cm long (1.7-3.3 g each time, depending on the size of the affected area) is applied to the skin and rubbed in a circular motion 3 or 4 times a day. The course of treatment is from 1 to 2 weeks to several months. The maximum duration of the drug without a doctor's consultation is 14 days.

    Side effects:

    In rare cases, reversible allergic reactions in the form of urticaria, dermatitis, peeling, erythema, or itching may develop in the area of ​​application of the Revmont cream for external use. In this case, stop using the drug and consult a doctor.

    Overdose:

    Information on the effects of overdose Revmon cream for external use are absent. With accidental ingestion, it is possible to develop systemic adverse reactions. Treatment: gastric lavage, induction of vomiting, Activated carbon, forced diuresis, symptomatic therapy. Dialysis is ineffective due to the high degree of binding of etofenamate to proteins (about 99%).

    Special instructions:

    Revmon cream for external use should not be applied to damaged or eczematous inflammation of the skin, mucous membranes. After applying, do not apply an occlusive bandage.
