    Description:
    Pieces of leaves, petioles, thin stems, petals, sepals, fruits, passing through a sieve with holes of 7 mm. Color grayish green with dark brown and brown impregnations. The smell is weak. The taste of the water extract is slightly bitter, with a sensation of mucus.

    Pharmacodynamics:
    Has a laxative effect. The therapeutic effect develops 8-12 hours after taking the drug. Causes chemical irritation of receptors of the intestinal mucosa, reflexively intensifies peristalsis, which leads to faster evacuation of the intestine, restores its normal functioning, does not cause addiction, does not affect digestion.

    Indications:
    Chronic constipation (hypotension, atony of the large intestine), stool adjustment with hemorrhoids, proctitis, anal fissures.

    Contraindications:
    Hypersensitivity to the drug, spastic constipation, spastic colitis, acute inflammatory diseases of the abdominal cavity organs, appendicitis, intestinal obstruction, strangulated hernia, perforated ulcer, proctitis and hemorrhoids (exacerbation phase), abdominal pain of unknown origin, metrorrhagia, gastrointestinal bleeding, cystitis, disturbed water-electrolyte metabolism, pregnancy, the period of breastfeeding, children under 12 years.

    Dosing and Administration:
    About 10 g (2 tablespoons) of leaves are placed in enameled pots, poured into 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 30 minutes, then continue to infuse at room temperature until complete cooling, filter, squeeze out. The volume of the resulting broth is brought to 200 ml with boiled water.
    Take inside 1/2 glass for the night. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks.
    It is recommended to stir the broth before use.
    Side effects:
    Possible allergic reactions, abdominal pain, flatulence, diarrhea. With prolonged use - colitis.

    Overdose:
    Symptoms: diarrhea, violation of water-electrolyte metabolism.
    Treatment is symptomatic.

    Interaction:
    Senna preparations reduce the absorption of tetracycline.

    Special instructions:
    With prolonged use of senna preparations, habituation can develop, so it is advisable to alternate them with other laxatives.
