    Composition:senna leaves
    Description:
    Powder: A mixture of pieces of leaves, petioles, thin stems, petals, sepals, fruits, passing through a sieve with holes 2 mm in size. The color is grayish-green or light green with inclusions of yellowish, whitish, brown color. The taste of the water extract is slightly bitter, with a sensation of mucus.

    Pharmacodynamics:
    Decoction of senna leaves has a laxative effect. The therapeutic effect develops 8-12 hours after taking the drug.

    Indications:
    Chronic constipation, stool regulation with hemorrhoids, proctitis, anal fissures.

    Contraindications:Hypersensitivity to the drug, intestinal obstruction, abdominal pain of unclear origin, disturbed water and electrolyte metabolism, acute inflammatory diseases of the abdominal cavity, proctitis and hemorrhoids (exacerbation phase), strangulated hernia, bleeding from the digestive tract, uterine bleeding, cystitis, spastic colitis, pregnancy, children under 12 years.
    Dosing and Administration:
    2 filter bags are placed in a glass or enamel ware, pour 100 ml (U2 cup) of boiling water, cover with a lid and insist for 15 minutes. Filter packets are pressed. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 100 ml with boiled water. Inside apply to Vg a glass in the evening after a meal. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks. It is recommended to stir up the broth before use.

    Side effects:Possible allergic reactions, abdominal pain, flatulence, diarrhea. With prolonged use - colitis.
    Overdose:
    Symptoms: diarrhea, disturbance of water-electrolyte metabolism. Treatment is symptomatic.

    Interaction:The senna drug reduces the adsorption of tetracycline
    Special instructions:
    With prolonged use of senna preparations, habituation can develop, so it is advisable to alternate them with other laxatives.
