    Description:
    Crushed raw materials: Pieces of leaves are grayish-green or yellowish-green in color, matte; thin stems - greyish-green or brown; petioles, petals, buds - brownish-green, yellowish-green; flowers, sepals and unripe fruits of various shapes,Passing through a sieve with holes of 7 mm.
    The smell is weak. The taste of the water extract is slightly bitter, with a sensation of mucus.

    Pharmacodynamics:
    Decoction of senna leaves has a laxative effect. The therapeutic effect develops 8 to 12 hours after taking the drug.

    Indications:
    Chronic constipation, stool adjustment with hemorrhoids, prop, anal fissures.

    Contraindications:
    Hypersensitivity to the drug, intestinal obstruction, abdominal pain of unclear origin, disturbed water and electrolyte metabolism, acute inflammatory diseases of the abdominal cavity, proctitis and hemorrhoids (exacerbation phase), strangulated hernia, bleeding from the digestive tract, uterine bleeding, cystitis, spastic colitis, Pregnancy, children under 12 years of age

    Dosing and Administration:
    About 10 g (2 tablespoons) of senna leaves are placed in enamel ware, pour 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and heat in a boiling water bath for 30 minutes,then continue to infuse at room temperature until complete cooling, filter, the remaining raw material is squeezed. The volume of the resulting broth is brought to 200 ml with boiled water.
    Take inside 1/2 glass in the evening after eating. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks. It is recommended to stir up the broth before use.

    Side effects:Possible allergic reactions, abdominal pain, flatulence, diarrhea. With prolonged use - colitis.
    Overdose:
    Symptoms; diarrhea, disturbance of water-electrolyte metabolism. Treatment is symptomatic,

    Interaction:
    Senna drugs reduce the adsorption of tetracycline.

    Special instructions:
    With prolonged use of senna preparations, habituation can develop, so it is advisable to alternate them with other laxatives.
