Ginseng tincture - instructions for use, dose, side effects, contraindications

Stimulates the central nervous system, has a general tonic, hypertensive and hypoglycemic action: improves appetite, raises blood pressure, mental and physical performance, stimulates sexual function; reduces general weakness, fatigue, drowsiness, reduces the cholesterol and sugar content in the blood, activates the adrenal cortex.

Pharmacological activity is due to the content of triterpene glycosides (panaxosides, panacylon, panaxin), essential and fatty oils, oils, pectins, vitamins, micro- and macroelements, as well as phytoestrogens and douacosterol.

Indications:

Arterial hypotension (low blood pressure), asthenic syndrome, physical and mental fatigue, neurasthenic syndrome, the period of convalescence after prolonged and severe, including infectious diseases,neurocirculatory dystonia by hypotonic type, in complex therapy with weakening of sexual function on the basis of neurasthenia.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, hypertension (high blood pressure), increased excitability, epilepsy, convulsions, sleep disorders, acute infectious diseases, bleeding, chronic liver disease, pregnancy, the period of breastfeeding, children (under 18 years).

Carefully:

Liver diseases, alcoholism, craniocerebral trauma, brain diseases.

Dosing and Administration:

Inside for 30-40 minutes before eating 15-20 drops of tincture 2-3 times a day. The maximum daily dose of 60 drops. The course of treatment is 30-40 days.

The expediency of conducting a second course of treatment is determined by the doctor.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions, tachycardia, headache, sleep disturbances, increased blood pressure, hypoglycemia.

Overdose:

When the recommended dosage is exceeded, dose-dependent side effects may increase; nose bleed.

Treatment is symptomatic.

Interaction:

Strengthens the action of psychostimulants and analeptics (including caffeine, camphor, etc.). It shows antagonism when interacting with drugs that depress the central nervous system (antiepileptic drugs, neuroleptics, tranquilizers and sedatives). Enhances the effect of hypoglycemic drugs. Strengthens, the effect of warfarin. Increases the risk of developing resistance to loop diuretics.

Special instructions:

The drug should not be used in the afternoon to avoid sleep disturbances.

There is a clearly pronounced seasonality of action: application in autumn and winter is most effective.

During the treatment period, care must be taken when driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.
