Dibazol - instructions for use, dose, side effects, contraindications

Spasmolytic agent miotropnogo action, has an antispasmodic effect on all smooth muscle organs, dilates blood vessels.Reduces blood pressure by reducing cardiac output and expanding peripheral vessels.

Hypotensive activity is very moderate, and the effect is short-lived.

With intramuscular injection, the hypotensive effect occurs within 30-60 minutes, and with intravenous administration - within 15-20 minutes. The duration of action is 2-3 hours.

Indications:

The drug is used for spasms of smooth muscles of internal organs (peptic ulcer, spasms of the gatekeeper and intestines), hypertensive crises and exacerbation of the course of arterial hypertension.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the drug.

The drug is contraindicated in diseases that are accompanied by increased muscle tone or convulsive syndrome.

Carefully:

Long-term use as an antihypertensive drug for elderly patients (reduction of cardiac output).

Pregnancy and lactation:

Because there is no safety data for the fetus, it can not be used for a long time during pregnancy. During breast-feeding, use only if the benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk for the child.

Dosing and Administration:

The injection solution of dibazol is administered intravenously and intramuscularly.

With hypertensive crisis administered intravenously or intramuscularly for 30-40 mg (6 - 8 ml of a 0.5% solution).

With an exacerbation of hypertension Enter intramuscularly 20-30 mg (4 - 6 ml of 0.5% solution) 2-3 times a day. A course of treatment 8-14 days. Simultaneously with Dibazol, other antihypertensive medications can also be used.

With spasms of smooth muscles the drug is administered in a dose of 10-20 mg (2-4 ml of a 0.5% solution) intramuscularly.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions are possible.

At application of high doses - feeling of heat, the raised sweating, giddiness, a nausea, an easy headache. When the dose is lowered or the drug is withdrawn, these side effects quickly disappear.

Interaction:

Bendazol prevents the increase in total peripheral vascular resistance of vessels caused by beta-adrenoblockers.

Strengthens the hypotensive effect of antihypertensive and diuretic drugs.

Fentolamine enhances the hypotensive effect of bendazole.

Special instructions:

With prolonged use, dibazol can weaken cardiac activity and possibly worsen performanceelectrocardiograms.
