    C.04.A.X   Other peripheral vasodilators

    Pharmacodynamics:

Bendazol is a spasmolytic agent of myotropic action, a benzimidazole derivative. The drug has an antispasmodic effect on the smooth muscles of blood vessels and internal organs. Reduces blood pressure by reducing cardiac output and expanding peripheral vessels.

The hypotensive effect of bendazole is moderately expressed, and the effect is short-lived.

Causes a shortening of the cerebral vessels.

It facilitates synaptic transmission in the spinal cord.

In the treatment of hypertension is recommended to combine with other drugs that lower arterial pressure. Elderly patients should not be given for a long time as an antihypertensive, as due to the reduction in cardiac output may result in poor performance ECG. Effective in peripheral paralysis of the facial nerve and residual phenomena after the transferred poliomyelitis.

Immunostimulatory activity related to the regulation ratio kontsentratsiytsiklicheskogo guanosine monophosphate and cAMP in immune cells (increases the content of cyclic guanosine monophosphate), which leads to a proliferation of mature sensitized T- and B-lymphocytes, secretion of factors of the mutual regulation of the activation reaction and cooperative end effector cell function.

    Pharmacokinetics:

Bendazole is rapidly absorbed when administered intramuscularly. Biotransformed in the liver to 1-methyl-2-Benzylbenzimidazol and 1-carbomethoxy-2-Benzylbenzimidazol. Eliminated mainly by the kidneys.

    Indications:

    Arterial hypertension, hypertensive crisis.

Spasms of smooth muscles of internal organs (including stomach, intestines).

Residual phenomena of poliomyelitis, peripheral paralysis of the facial nerve.

    IX.I10-I15.I10   Essential [primary] hypertension

XVIII.R10-R19.R10.4   Other and unspecified abdominal pain

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to bendazole.

    Carefully:

Use with caution in elderly patients.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

The category of FDA recommendations is not defined.

Adequate and well-controlled studies on humans and animals have not been conducted. Do not use during pregnancy and lactation.

    Dosing and Administration:

Kupirovanie hypertensive crisis - intravenously or intramuscularly 30-40 mg. Exacerbation of the course of arterial hypertension with a significant increase in blood pressure - intramuscularly 20-30 mg 2-3 times a day, treatment course 8-14 days.

    Inside - 20-50 mg 2-3 times a day for 3-4 weeks.

In the treatment of nervous diseases - adults in a dose of 5 mg once a day or every other day for 5-10 days, after 3-4 weeks, repeat the course of treatment. In the future, the courses are held with a break of 1-2 months.

For children, depending on the age, the dose is 1-5 mg once a day.

    Side effects:

    Maybe: allergic reactions.

With prolonged use: deterioration of ECG parameters due to a decrease in cardiac output.

When used in high doses: a feeling of heat, increased sweating, dizziness, nausea, headache.

    Overdose:

    Symptoms: lowering blood pressure.

    Treatment is symptomatic.

    Interaction:

When used simultaneously with antihypertensive agents, diuretics may increase the antihypertensive effect.

Simultaneous reception of bendazole prevents the beta-blockers caused by beta-blockers total peripheral vascular resistance.

With the simultaneous use of phentolamine enhances the hypotensive effect of bendazole.

    Special instructions:

It is not recommended for long-term treatment of hypertension, especially in elderly patients.
