    Composition:

    Active substance: natamycin (in terms of 100% substance) - 100 mg:

    Excipients: macrogol glntserilhydroksistearat - 75 mg, silicon dioxide colloid - 20 mg. fat solid (Supyocyr AM) up to 1500 mg.

    Description:

    Suppositories torpedo shaped from light yellow to light brown in color. On the longitudinal section there should be no foreign inclusions. An air rod or funnel-shaped depression is allowed.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Mechanism of action

    Natamia is an antifungal polyene antibiotic from the macrolide group, which has a wide spectrum of action. It has a fungicidal effect. It binds to the rocks of cell membranes, violating their integrity and function, which leads to the death of microorganisms.

    It is active against most pathogenic yeast-like fungi (especially Candida albicans). yeast (Tontlopsis and Rhodolorula), as well as other pathogenic fungi (Aspergillus, Penicillium). Less active against dermatophytes (Trichophyton, Microsporuin, Epidennophvton).

    Sensitivity in vitro

    He influences in vitro on Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.

    Resistance

    Resistance to natamycin in clinical practice is not found.

    Pharmacokinetics:Natamycin does not have a systemic effect, since it is not practically absorbed through intact skin and intact mucous membranes.
    Indications:

    Vaginitis, vulvitis, vulvovagna, caused by fungi of the genus Candida.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Method of administration - for vaginal application

    Suppositories, after being released from the contour pack, are inserted into the vagina while lying down, as deep as possible once a day for the night.

    Dosing

    With candidal vaginitis, vulvitis, vulvovaginitis: intravaginally one suppository for 3-6 days.

    The duration of the course of treatment is set individually. After the disappearance of the symptoms of the disease is recommended to continue treatment a few more days. During menstruation, the use of suppositories is interrupted.

    With persistent flow of vaginitis caused by Candida albicans, additionally appointed natamycin in the form of tablets for oral administration: 1 tablet 4 times a day for 10-20 days for sanation of the focus of candidiasis infection in the intestine.

    Side effects:

    With topical application, slight irritation and a burning sensation at the injection site are possible.

    Overdose:At present, no cases of drug overdose have been reported.
    Interaction:

    Drug interaction of the drug Natamycin with other medicinal products is not described.

    With vaginal application and the effect of body temperature, suppositories turn into a foamy mass, which contributes to a uniform distribution of natampin but the mucous membrane of the vagina.
