    Pharmacodynamics:

The pharmacological action is vasoconstrictive, anticongestive. Sympathomimetic.

Excites alpha-adrenergic receptors. With topical application in the form of eye drops reduces the swelling of the conjunctiva, a burning sensation, irritation, itching, soreness of the eye mucosa, lacrimation.

When used in the form of nasal drops causes narrowing of small arterioles of nasal passages, reduces edema of the nasal mucosa and reduces secretion.

    Pharmacokinetics:

After topical application, the effect develops after 1 minute and lasts 4-8 hours. When topical application is practically not absorbed, one can not exclude systemic absorption of the drug in patients with damage to the mucous membrane and epithelium. With systemic absorption, the development of hypertension is possible.

    Indications:

Edema of the conjunctiva, secondary hyperemia in allergic eye diseases, irritation of the conjunctiva (as a result of exposure to chemical and physical factors, including smoke, dust, chlorinated water, bright light, cosmetics, contact lenses), catarrhal conjunctivitis.

Edema of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity in patients suffering from rhinitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, pollinosis, as well as to reduce the edema of the nasal mucosa in need of diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
