    R.05.C.A   Expectorants

    Pharmacodynamics:

It is a plant of plant origin. The extract of ivy leaves contains saponins, triterpenoids, hederosaponins, alpha-hederin, flavonoids (kempferol derivatives, rutin). Reduces the viscosity of sputum and promotes its spillage. The drug improves microcirculation, raises diuresis, manifests nephro- and hepatoprotective properties, promotes the excretion of uric acid salts.

Activation of ß2-receptors in bronchial muscle cells and lung epithelium stimulates adrenergic effects. This leads to a decrease in the composition of intracellular Ca2+ in the muscles of the bronchi and relaxation of the bronchi. Simultaneously with this process, as a result of stimulation of ß2-activity, epithelial alveolar cells of the lungs of type II producemore surfactant.

The drug does not lead to a deterioration in the central regulation of respiration.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    Not described.
