Bacteriostatic antibiotic from the group of tetracyclines. It disrupts the formation of a complex between the transport RNA and the ribosome, which leads to a violation of protein synthesis. Active with respect to Propionibacterium acnes (Corynebacterium acnes), gram-positive (Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Haemophilus influenzae, Listeria spp., Bacillus anthracis) and Gram-negative microorganisms (Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Bordetella pertussis, Escherichia coli, Enterobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Salmonella spp., Shigella spp.), and Rickettsia spp., Chlamidia spp., Mycoplasma spp., Treponema spp.. Stable: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus spp., Serratia spp., most strains Bacteroides spp. and fungi, small viruses.
