Active substance: tetracycline hydrochloride (in terms of tetracycline) - 3 g; Excipients: lanolin anhydrous; solid paraffins; ceresin; sodium disulfite (sodium pyrosulfite, sodium metabisulphite); Vaseline - up to 100 g.

Pharmacodynamics:

Bacteriostatic antibiotic of a wide spectrum from the group of tetracyclines.It disrupts the formation of a complex between the transport RNA and the ribosome, which leads to a violation of protein synthesis. Active with respect to Propionibacterium acne (Corynebacterium acne), gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms.

Pharmacokinetics:When applied to intact skin, it is not practically absorbed.

Indications:Common acne, bacterial skin infection.

Contraindications:Hypersensitivity, children's age (up to 11 years).

Dosing and Administration:Externally, the ointment is applied to the affected skin 1-2 times a day (possibly overlay gauze bandage).

Side effects:Allergic reactions: burning, skin flushing, puffiness or other signs of irritation.

Special instructions:

It is not recommended to use with deep or stab wounds, severe burns, in ophthalmology (use 1% ophthalmic ointment).

It should be borne in mind that the use of antibacterial drugs for external use can lead to sensitization of the body, accompanied by the development of reactions of hypersensitivity.

Adequate and strictly controlled studies in children under 11 years of age have not been conducted; doses for this category of patients are not defined.
