Pharmacodynamics:

Has a sedative effect, possesses moderate reflex vasodilator action, caused by irritation of sensitive nerve endings. It stimulates the production and release of enkephalins, endorphins and a number of other peptides, kinins (due to stimulation of mucosal receptors), which actively participate at regulation of vascular permeability, the formation of pain.

Pharmacokinetics:When taken under the tongue, the therapeutic effect occurs, on average, after 5 minutes, while up to 70% of the drug is released within 3 minutes.

Indications:Functional cardialgia, a syndrome of "motion sickness" (nausea,vomiting in sea and air sickness).

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Deficiency of sucrose / isomaltose, intolerance to fructose, glucose-galactose malabsorption (because the preparation contains sucrose).

Carefully:

It should be prescribed with caution to a patient with diabetes mellitus (the drug contains sucrose). 1 tablet contains bread units - 0.096-0.116 XE (0.106 XE).

Pregnancy and lactation:During pregnancy and lactation, Validol is prescribed only if the expected therapeutic effect for the mother exceeds the possible negative effect of the drug on the fetus and the infant.

Dosing and Administration:

Validol is prescribed under the tongue. The tablet should be kept in the mouth under the tongue until it is completely resorbed. Take 1 tablet 2-3 times a day. The daily frequency and duration of Validol intake is determined depending on the effectiveness of treatment. If the effect is not sufficiently pronounced, or when in individual patients the next 5 minutes after taking the drug effect is not observed, you need to contact your doctor for another therapy.

Side effects:

With prolonged intake of Validol, mild nausea, lacrimation, dizziness may occur. These phenomena usually pass by themselves.

Overdose:

Headache, nausea, nervous state, lowering blood pressure, suppressing the central nervous system.In case of an overdose, it is necessary to cancel the drug and prescribe symptomatic therapy.

Interaction:

When combined with other drugs that depress the central nervous system, strengthens the effect of the latter. Simultaneous use of the drug with nitrates reduces the headache that occurs when they are used.

In connection with the possibility of side effects with prolonged use of the drug, the ability to drive a vehicle or mechanisms can be reduced.

Tablets are sublingual, 60 mg.
