Iodosept - instructions for use, dose, side effects, contraindications

Antiseptic preparation. Has a wide spectrum of antimicrobial action. Is active against bacteria, incl. E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, fungi, viruses, protozoa.

The active substance of the drug - iodine - is in the form of a complex with polyvinylpyrrolidone. The concentration of active iodine is 0.1-1%. After contact with skin and mucous membranes iodine gradually and evenly released, having a bactericidal effect on microorganisms. At the application site, a thin colored layer remains, which is retained until the entire amount of iodine is released.

Indications:

Treatment of acute and chronic infectious-inflammatory diseases of the vagina (trichomonas, fungal, viral, nonspecific and mixed infections); bacterial vaginitis.

Prevention of infectious and inflammatory complications before gynecological interventions (artificial termination of pregnancy, installation and removal of the intrauterine device, diathermocoagulation of the cervix, hysterosalpingography and others).

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, thyrotoxicosis, herpetiform dermatitis Duhring, adenoma of the thyroid gland,renal failure, simultaneous therapy with radioactive iodine, children under 18, I trimester of pregnancy.

Carefully:Chronic renal failure, II and III trimesters of pregnancy, lactation.

Dosing and Administration:

The drug is used intravaginally.

Preliminarily releasing the suppository from the contour cell packaging, it is injected deep into the vagina, lying on the back.

In acute vaginitis - 1 suppository 2 times a day for 7 days, with subacute and chronic vaginitis - 1 suppository once a day (in the evening before bedtime) for 14 days.

For preoperative prevention of complications of infectious genesis in gynecology - 2 times a day (morning and evening before bedtime) for 1-7 days (regardless of the phase of the menstrual cycle).

Side effects:

Allergic reactions (itching, hyperemia of the vaginal mucosa).

Interaction:

Do not use the drug in combination with other antiseptic agents containing mercury, oxidants, alkalis and cationic surfactants.

In the presence of blood, the bactericidal action of the drug may decrease.

Special instructions:

In the case of non-hypnotic hyperthyroidism and other diseases of the thyroid gland (especially in elderly patients) the drug is used only under strict indications and under constant medical supervision.

Avoid contact with eyes.

Form release / dosage:

Vaginal suppositories, 200 mg.

Packaging:

There are 5 suppositories in a contiguous cell package.

2 contour squares, together with instructions for use, are placed in a cardboard box.

Storage conditions:

In a dry place, protected from light, out of reach of children, at a temperature not exceeding 15 FROM.

Shelf life:

5 years.

Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.
