    Composition:

    1 suppository contains:

    active substance: povidone-iodine (iodovidone) (containing at least 10% free iodine in terms of dry matter) 0.20 g;

    Excipients: macrogol-400 (polyethylene oxide-400) 0.17 g, macrogol-4000 (polyethylene oxide 4000) 0.28 g, macrogol-1500 (polyethylene oxide-1500) - a sufficient amount to obtain a suppository with a mass of 2.25 g.

    Description:

    Suppositories from light brown to dark brown with a brownish hue, with a specific odor, torpedo shape. An air rod or a funnel-shaped depression is allowed.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Antiseptic preparation. Has a wide spectrum of antimicrobial action. It is active against bacteria, including E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, fungi, viruses, protozoa.

    The active substance of the drug - iodine, is in the form of a complex with polyvinylpyrrolidone. The drug refers to iodophors that bind iodine. After contact with skin and mucous membranes iodine gradually and evenly released.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    No data on systemic absorption.

    Indications:

    Acute and chronic infectious inflammatory diseases of the vagina (mixed, nonspecific infections), including vaginal infections caused by trichomonads and fungi; preoperative prevention of complications of infectious genesis in gynecology.

    Contraindications:

    Individual hypersensitivity to the drug, hyperthyroidism, Duhring's dermatitis,adenoma of the thyroid gland, renal failure, simultaneous therapy with radioactive iodine, children's age, I trimester of pregnancy, lactation period.

    Carefully:

    II and III trimesters of pregnancy, chronic renal failure.

    Dosing and Administration:

    The drug is used intravaginally. Preliminarily releasing the suppository from the contoured package, it is injected, lying on its back, deep into the vagina.

    With subacute and chronic vaginitis - before bed, within 14 days of 1 suppository (regardless of the phase of the menstrual cycle).

    In acute vaginitis - 1 suppository 2 times a day for 7 days.

    For preoperative prevention of complications of infectious genesis in gynecology, the drug is administered intravaginally 2 times a day (in the morning and in the evening before bedtime) for 1 to 7 days.

    Side effects:

    Itching, hyperemia in the places of application; allergic reactions.

    Interaction:

    Do not use the drug in combination with other antiseptic agents containing mercury, oxidants, alkalis and cationic surfactants. In the presence of blood, the bactericidal action of the drug may decrease.

    Special instructions:

    In the case of non-hypnotic hyperthyroidism and other diseases of the thyroid gland (especially in elderly patients) the drug is used only under strict indications and under constant medical supervision. Avoid contact with eyes.

    Form release / dosage:

    Vaginal suppositories, 200 mg.

    Packaging:

    There are 5 suppositories in a contiguous cell package.

    Two contour packs together with the instruction for use are placed in a pack of cardboard.

    Storage conditions:

    In a dry, dark place at a temperature of no higher than 15 ° C.

    Keep out of the reach of children.

    Shelf life:

    2 years.
