    Composition:On 1 Suppository:
    active substance: glycerol (glycerol) - 1.24 or 2.11 g in terms of 100% glycerol content (corresponding to 1.32 g or 2.25 g 94% glycerol with a density of not less than 1.2481 g / cm);
    Excipients: macrogol 400 (polyethylene oxide 400) - 0.12 g or 0.21 g; stearic acid - 0.12 g or 0.205 g; sodium carbonate decahydrate (sodium carbonate 10-water) 0.060 g or 0.103 g.
    Description:Suppositories are transparent or translucent, almost colorless or with a yellowish-brown tinge, with an abrasion surface, hygroscopic, torpedo-shaped.
    Suppository clouding, slight softening of the surface layer and fogging of the contoured package are allowed.
    Suppositories are uniform in longitudinal section. The air rod is allowed on the cut.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Laxative.

    When used in the form of rectal suppositories softens and lubricates hardened fecal masses, facilitates their passage through the large intestine, irritates the mucosa of the intestine,reflexively stimulating intestinal motility, initiate the process of defecation, facilitates the passage and excretion of stool.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    It is actively metabolized in the liver. It is excreted through the kidneys, 7-14% are unchanged.

    Indications:

    Symptomatic treatment of constipation of various etiologies (when the use of oral medications is impossible).

    Prevention of constipation in patients who can not strain during defecation: painful thrombosed hemorrhoids, anal fissures or perianal abscess, anorectal stenosis, after a myocardial infarction.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to glycerol or any of the components of the drug.

    Irritable bowel syndrome, intestinal obstruction, appendicitis, bleeding, diarrhea, hemorrhoids in the acute stage, fissures of the anus, inflammatory diseases and rectal tumors, undiagnosed abdominal pain, hemorrhagic rectocolitis, children under 5 years.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    During pregnancy and during breastfeeding, the drug can be used only if the expected benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus.

    It is not known whether glycerin is excreted into breast milk, so this drug is used only if, in the opinion of the doctor, the expected benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk for the child.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Rectally.

    Enter the drug into the rectum and leave there for at least 5 minutes. Usually defecation occurs through 5-10 minutes after the administration of the agent. The remains of the suppository are removed from the intestine with feces.

    Children from 5 to 12 years appoint 1 suppository containing 1.24 g of glycerol, once a day.

    Children over 12 years and adults prescribe 1 suppository, containing 2.11 g of glycerol, once a day. If necessary, increase the dose to 2 suppositories per day.

    Side effects:

    With prolonged use, it is possible to weaken the physiological process of defecation.

    Allergic reactions, local reactions (itching, burning in the anus), the appearance of spasmodic pain in the intestine.
