    Composition:

    1 suppository 2.63 g contains:

    Active substance: glycerol - 2,630 g.

    Excipients: sodium carbonate decahydrate 0.096 g, stearic acid - 0.230 g, macrogol 400 - 0.394 g

    1 suppository 0.88 g contains:

    Active substance: glycerol - 0.880 g.

    Excipients: sodium carbonate decahydrate - 0.032 g, stearic acid - 0.077 g, macrogol 400 0.132 g

    Description:

    Suppositories are transparent or translucent, almost colorless or with a faint yellowish tinge, with a smearing surface, hygroscopic, torpedo-shaped. It is possible to have a funnel-shaped depression, opacification cloudiness, slight softening of the surface layer, condensation on the package.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Laxative.

    When used in the form of rectal suppositories softens and lubricates hardened fecal masses, facilitates their passage through the large intestine, exerts an irritating effect on the intestinal mucosa,reflexively stimulates intestinal motility, initiate the process of defecation, facilitates the passage and excretion of stool.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    Well absorbed through the mucosa of the rectum. It is actively metabolized in the liver. It is excreted through the kidneys, 7-14% are unchanged.

    Indications:

    Symptomatic treatment of constipation of various etiologies (when the use of oral medications is impossible).

    Prevention of constipation in patients who can not strain during defecation: painful thrombosed hemorrhoids, anal fissures or perianal abscess, anorectal stenosis, after a myocardial infarction.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to glycerol or any of the components of the drug.

    Irritable bowel syndrome, intestinal obstruction, appendicitis, bleeding, diarrhea, hemorrhoids in the acute stage, anal fissures, inflammatory diseases and rectal tumors, undiagnosed abdominal pain, hemorrhagic rectoculitis, children under 1 year.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    During pregnancy and lactation, the drug can be used only if the expected benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus.

    It is not known whether glycerin is excreted into breast milk, so this medication is used only if, in the opinion of the doctor, the expected benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Rectally.

    Enter the drug into the rectum and leave there for at least 5 minutes. Usually, defecation occurs 5-10 minutes after the administration of the drug. The remains of the suppository are removed from the intestine with feces.

    Children over 12 years and adults prescribe 1 suppository, containing 2.63 g of glycerol, once a day. If necessary, increase the dose to 2 suppositories per day.

    Children from 1 to 12 years old prescribe 1 suppository containing 0.88 g of glycerol, once a day.

    Side effects:

    Allergic reactions, local reactions (itching, burning in the anus), the appearance of spasmodic pain in the intestine.

    With prolonged use, irritation of the rectum, weakening of the physiological process of defecation are possible.

    If any of the side effects listed in the manual are aggravated,or any other side effects not listed in the instructions are noted, the doctor should be informed immediately.

    Overdose:

    Symptoms: frequent loose stools.

    Treatment: cancellation of the drug. Symptomatic treatment.

    Interaction:

    Data on interactions with other drugs are not available.

    Special instructions:

    Use with caution in case of impaired renal function, allergies, nausea, vomiting.

    Before and after using suppositories, you should thoroughly wash your hands.

    Systematic reception is not recommended.

    Treatment is discontinued after restoration of normal intestinal peristalsis.

    It is not recommended to use suppositories for longer than 1 week.

    Do not lubricate the suppository with mineral liquid and solid oils.
