    Composition:

    Active substances:

    Licorice extract thick with a content of glycyrrhizic acid 14% - 20.7 g.

    Anise oil - 0.34 g.

    Ammonia water concentrated 25% -1.38 g

    [eq. 345 mg of ammonia]

    Excipients:

    Ethanol (ethyl alcohol) 90% - 20.41 ml

    Purified water - up to 100 ml

    Description:The liquid is brown in color, with the smell of ammonia and anise oil. Precipitation is allowed during storage.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    The expectorant effect of the thoracic elixir is due to the action of its constituent components:

    - licorice extract has a thick anti-inflammatory and expectorant properties that are associated with the content in the roots of glycyrrhizin,stimulating the activity of ciliated epithelium in the trachea and bronchi, and also enhancing the secretory function of the mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract;

    - Anise oil has an expectorant effect due to the antholum content in the oil, which promotes reflex excitation of respiration, increased activity of the ciliary epithelium of the respiratory tract and increased secretion of the mucous membranes of the larynx, trachea, bronchi;

    - ammonia has an irritating effect that leads to the excitation of the endings of the sensory nerves of the upper respiratory tract and reflex stimulation of the respiratory center.

    Indications:As an expectorant for infectious-inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by a cough with hard-to-separate sputum (including tracheitis, tracheobronchitis, bronchitis).
    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, bronchial asthma, gastritis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum during the period exacerbation, pregnancy, the period of breastfeeding.

    Carefully:Liver diseases, alcoholism, craniocerebral trauma, brain diseases.
    Dosing and Administration:

    Inside, 3-4 times a day. Adults-20-40 drops each; children are prescribed to take as many drops as the child's age. Before use, the drug should be diluted in a small amount of water.

    The course of treatment is 7 days. An increase in the duration and conduct of repeated courses of treatment is possible on the recommendation of a doctor.

    Side effects:Allergic reactions are possible, in some cases, diarrhea may occur.
    Overdose:

    With long-term use with excess of the indicated dosages hypokalemia, increased arterial pressure, the appearance of peripheral edema due to disturbance of water-salt metabolism are possible.

    Treatment: symptomatic.

    Interaction:

    If necessary, can be used in combination with antibiotics and other medicines. Do not use concomitantly with antitussive drugs, as this makes it difficult to cough up thinned phlegm.

    Special instructions:

    The absolute ethanol content in one drop of the drug is 0.0075 g, in the maximum single dose for adults - up to 0.3 g, in the maximum daily dose - up to 1.2 g.

    Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:During the period of treatment, care must be taken when driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially hazardous activities requiring increased attention and speed of psychomotor reactions.

    Elixir.

    Packaging:

    For 25 ml of the drug in orange-glass bottles with a screw mouth, sealed with polyethylene plugs and screw-on caps.

    Each vial with instructions for use is placed in a pack of cardboard.

    It is allowed to pack the vials together with an equal number of instructions for use in a group pack of cardboard.
    Storage conditions:

    At a temperature of 15 to 25 ° C.

    Keep out of the reach of children.

    Shelf life:

    3 years. Do not use after the expiration date.
