    Composition:

    Laminaria thallus - sea kale.

    Characteristic

    Contains iodide and bromide salts, alginates (calcium salts of alginic acids), mannitol, laminaria polysaccharide, vitamin C.

    Description:

    Slices of thallus of various shapes passing through a sieve with openings 3 mm in size from light olive to dark olive, greenish brown, light brown, reddish-brown, sometimes yellowish brown, greenish-black in color. Pieces can be covered with a white touch of sea salt. The odor is peculiar.The taste of the water extract is brackish.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Has a laxative, thyroid and hypolipidemic action. The laxative effect is due to irritation of the intestinal mucosa receptors and stimulation of peristalsis due to an increase in the volume of intestinal contents.


    Indications:

    Applied as a mild laxative for chronic atonic constipation, including in patients with hyperlipidemia.

    Contraindications:

    Increased individual sensitivity (including iodine), nephritis, nephrosis, hemorrhagic diathesis, furunculosis, acne, chronic pyoderma, hyperthyroidism, multinodular goitre, intestinal obstruction, acute abdominal syndrome, appendicitis and other inflammatory processes in the abdominal cavity, acute febrile conditions . Pregnancy, lactation, children under 12 years.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Inside apply to 1/2-1 a teaspoonful 1 time a day, washing down with water. The course of treatment is 15-30 days.

    Side effects:

    With prolonged use and increased sensitivity to iodine, iodism phenomena (rhinitis, urticaria, Quincke's edema, salivation, lacrimation, acne on the skin, etc.) are possible.
