Pharmacodynamics:

Laxative effect is due to the ability of the drug to swell and, increasing in volume, cause irritation of receptors of the intestinal mucosa. In connection with the content of iodine salts, the drug also has thyroid and hypolipidemic effects.

Indications:Chronic atonic constipation (including in patients with hyperlipidemia).

Contraindications:

Increased individual sensitivity (including iodine), hyperthyroidism, multinodular goitre, thyrotoxicosis of various genesis, nephritis, nephrosis, hemorrhagic diathesis, furunculosis, acne, chronic pyoderma, intestinal obstruction, acute abdominal syndrome, appendicitis and other inflammatory processes in the abdominal cavity , acute feverish conditions, pregnancy, lactation.

Dosing and Administration:Take 1/2 1/2 teaspoonful 1 time a day, washing down with water. The course of treatment is 15-30 days.

Side effects:

With long-term use and increased sensitivity to iodine, the phenomena of iodism (runny nose, urticaria, Quincke's edema, salivation, lacrimation, acne on the skin, etc.), allergic reactions are possible.
