Composition:

Leaves of orthosiphon stamen (kidney tea) contain glycoside orthosiphonin, triterpene saponins, tannins, β-sitosterol, potassium salts, essential oil, organic acids and other biologically active substances.

Description:

Pieces of leaves and stems of various shapes passing through a sieve with apertures measuring 7 mm. The color is green, greyish-green, purple-brown, greenish-brown or brown. The smell is weak. The taste of water extract is slightly bitter, slightly astringent.

Pharmacodynamics:

Infusion of leaves of kidney tea has a moderate diuretic and spasmolytic effect. It also has choleretic properties, increases the secretory activity of the gastric mucosa.

Diuretic effect is accompanied by excretion of urine chloride, urea and uric acid.

Indications:

Infusion of leaves of kidney tea is used in complex therapy for edema that result from impaired renal function, as well as due to circulatory insufficiency.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Dosing and Administration:

About 3 g (1 tablespoon) of leaves are placed in enameled dishes, pour 200 ml (1 glass) of hot boiled water, cover with a lid and insist on a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, then cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, filter, the remaining raw materials squeeze out. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.

Infusion is taken in a warm form for 1/2 cup 2 times a day for 20-30 minutes before meals. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks. Conducting a second course of treatment is possible in agreement with the doctor.

Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.

Store in a dry, dark place.

Cooked infusion - in a cool place for no more than a day.

Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf life:
