Leaves of orthosiphon stamen (kidney tea) contain glycoside orthosiphonin, triterpene saponins, tannins, β-sitosterol, potassium salts, essential oil, organic acids and other biologically active substances.

Description:

Pieces of leaves and stems of various shapes passing through a sieve with holes 2 mm in diameter. The color is green, grayish-green with purple-brown, greenish-brown and brown impregnations. The smell is weak. The taste of water extract is slightly bitter, slightly astringent.

Pharmacodynamics:

Infusion of leaves of kidney tea has a moderate diuretic and spasmolytic effect. It also has choleretic properties, increases the secretory activity of the gastric mucosa.

Diuretic effect is accompanied by excretion of urine chloride, urea and uric acid.

Indications:

Infusion of leaves of kidney tea is used in complex therapy for edema that result from impaired renal function, as well as due to circulatory insufficiency.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Pregnancy and lactation:

Application in pregnancy and during breastfeeding is possible if the expected benefit for the mother exceeds

potential risk to the fetus and the baby. Required

Dosing and Administration:

2 filter bags are placed in a glass or enamel ware, pour 200 ml (1 glass) of boiling water. cover and insist for 15 minutes. The contents of the filter bags are squeezed. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water.
