Composition:

Leaves of orthosiphon stamen (kidney tea) contain glycoside orthosiphonin, triterpene saponins, tannins, potassium salts, essential oil, organic acids and other biologically active substances.

Description:

Pieces of leaves and stems of various shapes passing through a sieve with apertures measuring 7 mm. The color is green, greyish-green, purple-brown, greenish-brown or brown. The smell is weak. The taste of water extract is bitterish, slightly astringent.

Pharmacodynamics:

Infusion of leaves of kidney tea has a moderate diuretic and antispasmodic effect. It also has choleretic properties, increases the secretory activity of the gastric mucosa. Diuretic effect is accompanied by excretion of urine chloride, urea and uric acid.

Indications:

Infusion of leaves of kidney tea is used in complex therapy for edema that result from impaired renal function, chronic heart failure.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the drug, children under 12 years.

Pregnancy and lactation:

Possible given the potential benefit / risk to the fetus and the baby. It is necessary to consult a doctor

Dosing and Administration:

About 3 g (1 tablespoon) of raw materials are placed in enameled dishes, pour 200 ml (1 glass) of hot, boiled water, cover with a lid and

insist on a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, then cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, filter, the remaining raw material is squeezed. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water. Infusion is used in warm form for 1/2 cup 2 times a day for 20-30 minutes before meals. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks. Conducting a second course of treatment is possible in agreement with the doctor.

Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.
