Composition:

Leaves of orthosiphon stamen (kidney tea) contain glycoside orthosiphonin, saponins, essential oil and other biologically active substances.

Description:

Pieces of leaves and stems of various shapes. The color is green, greyish-green with purple-brown, greenish-brown and brown impregnations.

The smell is weak. The taste of water extract is bitterish, slightly astringent.

Pharmacodynamics:

Infusion of leaves of kidney tea has a moderate diuretic and spasmolytic effect. It also has choleretic properties, increases the secretory activity of the gastric mucosa.

Diuretic effect is accompanied by excretion of urine chloride, urea and uric acid.

Indications:

In the complex therapy for edema, resulting from a violation of kidney function, chronic heart failure.

Contraindications:Hypersensitivity to the drug, children under 12 years.
Pregnancy and lactation:Application during pregnancy and during breastfeeding is possible if the expected benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus and the baby. It is necessary to consult a doctor.
Dosing and Administration:

1 filter bag (1.5 g) is placed in a glass or enamelware, pour 100 ml (1/2 cup) of boiling water, cover and insist for 15 minutes, periodically pressing on the bag with a spoon, then squeeze it. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 100 ml with boiled water.

Infusion is used in warm form for 1/2 cup 2 times a day for 20-30 minutes before meals. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks. Conducting a second course of treatment is possible in agreement with the doctor.

Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.

Side effects:
