Composition:

Leaves of orthosiphon stamen (kidney tea) contain glycoside orthosiphonin, triterpene saponins, tannins, potassium salts, essential oil, organic acids and other biologically active substances.

Description:

Pieces of leaves and stems of various shapes passing through a sieve with holes 2 mm in size. The color is green, greyish-green with purple-brown, greenish-brown and brown impregnations. The smell is weak. The taste of water extract is bitterish, slightly astringent.

Pharmacodynamics:

Infusion of leaves of kidney tea has a moderate diuretic and antispasmodic effect. It also has choleretic properties, increases the secretory activity of the gastric mucosa. Diuretic effect is accompanied by excretion of urine chloride, urea and uric acid.

Indications:

Infusion of leaves of kidney tea is used in complex therapy for edema that result from impaired renal function, chronic heart failure.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the drug, children under 12 years.

Pregnancy and lactation:Possible given the potential benefit / risk to the fetus and the baby. It is necessary to consult a doctor.
Dosing and Administration:

2 filter bags are placed in a glass or enamel ware, pour 200 ml (1 glass) of boiling water, cover and insist for 15 minutes, periodically pressing on the bags with a spoon, then squeeze them. The volume of the infusion obtained is adjusted to 200 ml with boiled water. Infusion is used in warm form for 1/2 cup 2 times a day for 20-30 minutes before meals. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks. Conducting a second course of treatment is possible in agreement with the doctor.

Before use, the infusion is recommended to be shaken.
