    Composition:

    one tablet contains:

    active substance: nicotinoyl gamma-aminobutyrate sodium (picamylone) 20 mg or 50 mg, Excipients: potato starch, magnesium hydroxycarbonate (magnesium carbonate basic), sucrose (sugar), calcium stearate, talc.

    Description:Tablets are white or white with a weak creamy shade of color, flat-cylindrical with a bevel. Tablets with a dosage of 50 mg are at risk.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Nootropic agent dilates the vessels of the brain. It also has a tranquilizing, psychostimulating, antiaggregant and antioxidant effect. Improves the functional state of the brain by normalizing tissue metabolism and affecting cerebral circulation (increasesvolume and linear speed of cerebral blood flow, reduces the resistance of cerebral vessels, suppresses platelet aggregation, improves microcirculation).

    At the course reception increases physical and mental efficiency, reduces headache, improves memory, normalizes sleep; contributes to the reduction or disappearance of feelings of anxiety, tension, fear; improves the condition of patients with motor and speech disorders; reduces the inhibitory effect of ethanol on the central nervous system. Improves blood circulation in the vessels of the retina and optic nerve.

    Pharmacokinetics:Absorption is fast and complete. It penetrates the blood-brain barrier, it is retained for a long time in the tissues of the body. Bioavailability is 50-88%. It is excreted mainly by the kidneys in unchanged form. Half-life is 0.51 hours.
    Indications:

    Cerebrovascular insufficiency, asthenia, depressive disorders in old age.

    Conditions, accompanied by anxiety, fear, increased irritability, emotional lability.

    Asthenic conditions caused by various neuropsychic diseases.As part of a comprehensive treatment - for the management of acute alcohol intoxication; with chronic alcoholism - to reduce asthenic, asthenoneurotic, postpsychotic, pre-recurrent cotoyaniy, as well ase of alcoholic encephalopathy.

    In the complex therapy - migraine (prevention), craniocerebral trauma, neuroinfection.

    Improving the portability of physical and mental loads (to persons who are in tense and extreme conditions of activity, to restore the physical performance of athletes, to increase resistance to physical and mental stress).

    Open angle glaucoma (to stabilize the visual function).

    In urological practice (in children older than 3 years and in adults with disorders of urination) to improve the adaptive function of the bladder (reducing detoxification hypoxia).

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity, chronic renal failure, pregnancy, lactation, age under 3 years (efficacy and safety not established).

    Dosing and Administration:

    Inside, regardless of food intake.

    In cerebrovascular diseases, a single dose of 20-50 mg 2-3 times a day, a daily dose of 60-150 mg. The course of treatment - 1-2 months. Repeated course - after 5-6 months.

    For the prevention of migraine attacks of 50 mg 3 times a day, to stop the attack - 100 mg once.

    Depressive conditions in old age - 40-200 mg / day for 2-3 doses, the optimal dosage is 60-120 mg / day, for 1.5-3 months.

    As an anti-asthenic and anxiolytic agent - 40-80 mg / day, if necessary - up to 200-300 mg / day, for 1-1.5 months.

    With alcoholism during the period of abstinence - 100-150 mg / day, short course 6-7 days; with more persistent violations outside of abstinence - a daily dose of 40-60 mg for 4-5 weeks.

    To restore efficiency and with increased loads - 60-80 mg / day for 1-1.5 months, for athletes in the same dose, for 2 weeks of training period. With the primary open-angle glaucoma - 50 mg 3 times a day for 1 month. For diseases of the retina and optic nerve, the first 12 days of picamilon are administered intramuscularly, then inside 20-50 mg 3 times a day at a daily dose of 60-150 mg for 1 month.

    In disorders of urination - 20 mg 2-3 times a day (for children from 3 to 10 years); 50 mg 2 times a day (for children from 11 to 15 years); 50 mg 3 times a day (for patients older than 15 years). The course of treatment is 1 month.

    Side effects:Irritability, agitation, anxiety, dizziness, headache, nausea, allergic reactions (skin rash, itching).
    Overdose:

    Symptoms: increased severity of adverse reactions. Treatment: symptomatic.

    Interaction:Shortens the time of action of barbiturates, intensifies the action of narcotic analgesics.
