Pharmacodynamics:

The drug has an adsorptive and nonspecific detoxification action. AT lumen of the gastrointestinal tract, activated carbon binds and removes from the body endogenous and exogenous toxic substances of various nature, including bacteria and bacterial toxins, food allergens, drugs, poisons, alkaloids, salts of heavy metals, gases.

Indications:

It is used as a detoxifier for exogenous and endogenous intoxications of different origin.

In diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, accompanied by dyspepsia, flatulence.

In the complex treatment of food poisoning, salmonellosis, dysentery.

When poisoningmedicinal preparations (including psychotropic, sleeping pills, narcotic drugs), alkaloids, heavy metal salts and other poisons (as part of complex therapy).

With food and drug allergies;

With hyperbilirubinemia (viral hepatitis and other jaundice).

With hyperazotemia (renal failure).

To reduce gassing in the intestine before ultrasound and X-ray examination.

Contraindications:

hypersensitivity to any component of the drug;

Dosing and Administration:

Inside, in capsules for 1 -2 h before or after eating and taking other medicines.

Dosing regimen; adults average 2-8 capsules (0.5g 2 g) 3-4 times a day, the maximum single dose - up to 12 capsules (3 g).

Children older than 7 years to use 1-3 capsules 3-4 times a day.

The course of treatment - for acute diseases - 3-5 days, for allergies and chronic diseases - up to 14 days. Repeated course 2 weeks after the doctor's recommendation.

In acute poisoning, treatment begins with a gastric lavage, then 80-120 capsules (20-30 g of the drug) are given inside each day. Treatment is continued at the rate of 0.5-1 g / kg / day in 3-4 doses for 2-3 days. With flatulence, take inside 4-8 capsules (1-2 g of the drug) 3-4 times a day. The course of treatment is 3-7 days.

Side effects:

Dyspepsia, constipation or diarrhea. With prolonged use (more than 14 days), hypovitaminosis, a decrease in absorption from the gastrointestinal tract of nutrients (fats, proteins), hormones, calcium. Staining of feces in a dark color.

Overdose:

At present, no cases of drug overdose have been reported.

Interaction:The drug reduces the effectiveness of drugs used in conjunction with it.

Special instructions:When treating intoxication, it is necessary to create an excess of activated carbon in the stomach (before it is washed) and in the intestine (after washing the stomach). Reducing the concentration of activated carbon in the medium contributesdesorption of the bound substance into the intestinal lumen and its absorption into the blood; To prevent resorption, repeated washing of the stomach with activated carbon and the assignment of activated charcoal are recommended. If the poisoning is caused by substances involved in enterohepatic circulation (cardiac glycosides, indomethacin, morphine and other opioids), it is necessary to apply the drug for several days. It is recommended to store in a dry place, separate from substances emitting gases or vapors into the atmosphere. Storage in air (especially wet) reduces sorption capacity. In the presence of hypovitaminosis, which can be accompanied by prolonged use of activated carbon, it is necessary to appoint multivitamins.

The drug has no effect on the ability to perform potentially hazardous activities requiring increased concentration of attention and speed of psychomotor reactions (including driving, working with moving mechanisms).
