    Pharmacodynamics:

    An anticancer agent, it has a metabolic effect. Taurine is a sulfur-containing amino acid, formed in the body in the process of cysteine ​​metabolism. Participates in the processes of repair and regeneration in diseases of a dystrophic nature and diseases accompanied by a sharp disruption of the metabolism of the eye tissues.

    Pharmacokinetics:With topical application, systemic absorption is low.
    Indications:Dystrophy of the cornea; cataracts (senile, diabetic, traumatic, radiation); trauma of the cornea (as a stimulant of reparative processes).
    Contraindications:Hypersensitivity, children's age (under 18 years).
    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Sufficient experience in the use of the drug during pregnancy and lactation is not present. It is possible to use Taurin to treat pregnant and lactating mothers as prescribed by the doctor if the expected therapeutic effect for the mother exceeds the risk of developing possible side effects for the fetus and the baby.

    Dosing and Administration:

    In cataracts, a solution of 40 mg / ml (eye drops) is prescribed in the form of instillations 1-2 drops 2-4 times a day for 3 months. The course is repeated at a monthly interval. In injuries and dystrophic diseases, corneas are used in the same doses for 1 month.

    Side effects:Allergic reactions.
    Overdose:Data on overdose are absent.
    Interaction:

    Perhaps the combined use of taurine with timolol.

    The cases of negative drug interaction of taurine with other drugs used in ophthalmology are not described.

    If you need to use other ophthalmic drugs (eye drops, etc.) at the same time, the interval between taurine and other drugs should be at least 10-15 minutes.

    Special instructions:

    The preservative contained in the preparation can be irritating to the eye when wearing contact lenses, so any contact lenses should be removed before instillation and put on not earlier than 15 minutes after it.
