Dioxydin solution 10 mg / ml can not be used for intravenous administration, because of the instability of the solution when stored at low temperatures.
External application. To treat superficial purulent wounds on the wound surface, previously cleared of purulent necrotic masses, apply a cloth moistened with a solution of dioxygen 5-10 mg / ml.Bandages are changed daily or every other day, depending on the condition of the burn wound and the course of the wound process. With purulent wounds in the urinary system, it is recommended that the dressing be changed twice a day. Deep wounds after treatment, plugged or irrigation with a solution of 5 mg / ml, and in the presence of a drainage tube, 20 to 100 ml of a solution of the drug 5 mg / ml are injected into the cavity. Dressings are done once a day.
For the treatment of deep purulent wounds in osteomyelitis (bruises of the hand, feet), a long rinsing of the wounds with the solution of the preparation 5 mg / ml is applied (drainage of the wound with a thin catheter, rinsing with rare drops for 3-4 hours once or twice a day, but not more than 400- 500 ml of solution for rinsing).
In osteomyelitis purulent wounds are washed with a solution of 5 mg / ml at 15-20 drops per minute. Within 1-2 hours, in severe forms - up to 12 hours.
To obtain a solution of 5 mg / ml, the ampoule solution of the drug is diluted to the desired concentration with sterile isotonic sodium chloride solution or water for injection.
Dioxydin in the form of solutions 1-2 mg / ml are also used to prevent infection after surgery.
Intracavitary injection. Before the beginning of the course of treatment, a drug tolerance test is performed by inserting 10 ml of a solution of 10 mg / ml into the cavity. In the absence of side effects after 3-6 hours begin course treatment, otherwise the drug is not used. In the cavity the drug is injected through a drainage tube, a catheter or syringe - 10-50 ml of a solution of 10 mg / ml.
The maximum daily dose for administration in the cavity is 70 ml. The drug is usually administered once a day. According to the indications, it is possible to administer a daily dose in two divided doses. The course of treatment, usually lasts 3 weeks or more. If necessary, after 1-1,5 months, repeat the course.
