    Pharmacodynamics:

The preparation of calcium replenishes the calcium deficiency necessary for the process of transmission of nerve impulses, the reduction of skeletal and smooth muscles, myocardial activity, the formation of bone tissue, and the coagulation of blood.Reduces the permeability of cells and the vascular wall, prevents the development of inflammatory reactions, increases the body's resistance to infections and can significantly enhance phagocytosis. With intravenous injection stimulates the sympathetic division of the autonomic nervous system, enhances the secretion of epinephrine by the adrenal glands, and has a moderate diuretic effect.

    Pharmacokinetics:

In plasma about 45% is in complex with proteins. About 20% is excreted by the kidneys, The remaining quantity (80%) is with the contents of the intestine.

    Indications:

Increased need for calcium (pregnancy, lactation period, period of increased body growth); bleeding of various etiology and localization (pulmonary, gastrointestinal, nasal, uterine, etc.); allergic diseases (serum sickness, urticaria, febrile syndrome, itching, swelling of Quincke); bronchial asthma, dystrophic alimentary swelling, spasmophilia, tetany, pulmonary tuberculosis, rickets, osteomalacia, lead colic; hypoparathyroidism, hypocalcemia, increased vascular permeability (hemorrhagic vasculitis, radiation sickness), hepatitis parenchymatous, hepatitis toxic, nephritis, weakness of labor, poisoning with magnesium salts, oxalic and fluoric acids; paroxysmal myoplegia (hyperkalemic form); inflammatory and exudative processes (pneumonia, pleurisy, adnexitis, endometritis, etc.); eczema, psoriasis.

    Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity, hypercalcemia, atherosclerosis, propensity to thrombosis.

    Dosing and Administration:

Intravenously slowly (6-8 cap / min), 5-15 ml of 10% solution, diluting before injecting 100-200 ml of a 0.9% solution NaCl or 5% solution of dextrose.

    Side effects:

Feeling of heat, hyperemia of the skin of the face, bradycardia, with rapid introduction - fibrillation of the ventricles of the heart.

Local reactions (with intravenous administration) - pain and congestion along the vein.

    Interaction:

When combined with thiazide diuretics can increase hypercalcemia, reduce the effect of calcitonin in hypercalcemia, reduces the bioavailability of phenytoin.

    Special instructions:

Do not administer subcutaneously or intramuscularly, tissue necrosis is possible. High concentrations of calcium chloride, starting at 5%, cause severe irritation of the vascular wall.

With the intravenous administration of calcium chloride, a feeling of heat first appears in the oral cavity, and then - throughout the body (previously used to determine the speed of blood flow - the time between the moment of its introduction into the vein and the appearance of a sensation of heat).
