    Composition:

    1 suppository contains:

    active substance: ketoconazole 400 mg;

    Excipients: butyl hydroxy anisole 0.5 mg, semisynthetic glycerides (Supposir AM) - a sufficient amount to obtain a suppository with a mass of 2000 mg.

    Description:

    Suppositories of the shape of a cylinder with a pointed end, white or white with a yellowish hue of color. On the cut, an air rod or a funnel-shaped depression is allowed.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Ketoconazole (an imidazole-dioxole derivative) is a synthetic antifungal agent for a wide range of effects for topical application.

    It has fungicidal and fungistatic action against dermatophytes: Trichophyton spp., Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum spp.; yeast and yeast-like fungi: Candida spp., Pityrosporum spp., Torulopsis, Cryptococcus spp., of dimorphic fungi and eumitsetov. The drug is active against staphylococci and streptococci.The mechanism of action is to inhibit the biosynthesis of ergosterol and change the lipid composition of the fungal membrane.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    Systemic absorption with intravaginal application is insignificant.

    Indications:

    Treatment of acute and chronic recurrent vaginal candidiasis: prevention of fungal infections of the vagina with reduced resistance of the body and against treatment with antibacterial agents and other drugs that disrupt the normal microflora of the vagina.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, pregnancy, lactation, children under 18 years.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Intravaginal. Preliminarily releasing the suppository from the contour pack, insert it deep into the vagina in the supine position on 1 suppository per day for 3-5 days depending on the course of the disease. In chronic candidiasis, 1 suppository is used for 10 days.

    If there is no improvement after treatment or new symptoms appear, you should consult your doctor.

    Side effects:

    Hyperemia and irritation of the vaginal mucosa, itching of the vagina.

    Allergic reactions: skin rash, hives.

    If any of the side effects listed in the manual are aggravated, or if you notice any other side effects not listed in the instructions, tell your doctor.

    Overdose:

    Due to low absorption of the drug for intravaginal application in recommended (therapeutic) doses, an overdose is unlikely. If the drug is taken orally, poisoning symptoms may occur. There is no specific antidote. If necessary, take Activated carbon and conduct symptomatic treatment.

    Interaction:

    Because of low absorption for intravaginal application, interaction with other drugs is unlikely.

    Special instructions:

    Simultaneous treatment of the sexual partner is recommended to reduce the risk of recurrence of the disease.

    In rare cases, penile hyperemia in the sexual partner is possible.

    The use of suppositories can reduce the reliability of mechanical contraception (latex-containing condoms and vaginal diaphragms). During treatment it is recommended to select reliable methods of contraception.

    During treatment it is necessary to control the picture of peripheral blood, the functional state of the liver and kidneys.

    Vaginal suppositories under the action of body temperature are melted, forming a volumetric spreading foam mass, which promotes a uniform distribution of the active substance along the mucous membrane.
