Description:

Ointment is white or white with a yellowish or pinkish tint of color with a weak specific odor.

Pharmacodynamics:

Active substance - ketoconazole, an imidazole-dioxolane derivative. It has fungicidal and fungistatic action against dermatophytes (Trichophyton spp., Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum spp.), yeast fungi (Candida spp.), dimorphic fungi and eumycetes, Pityrosporum spp..

The mechanism of action is the inhibition of ergosterol synthesis and membrane lipids required for synthesis of the cell wall of fungi (mushrooms lose their ability to form colonies and filaments),and impaired permeability of the cell wall. Inhibits biotransformation of blastospore Candida albicans in invasive forms.

The drug is active against staphylococci and streptococci.

Pharmacokinetics:

When applied externally, it is not absorbed into the systemic circulation.

Indications:Fungal infections caused by susceptible pathogens; dermatomycosis (dermatomycosis of smooth skin, inguinal epidermophytia, epidermophytia of hands and feet, skin candidiasis, pityriasis, seborrheic dermatitis caused by Pityrosporum ovale), folliculitis.

Contraindications:Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, the period of pregnancy and lactation.

Dosing and Administration:

Outwardly.

Ointment is applied once a day to the affected area of the skin, taking also 2 cm of healthy areas.

Treatment continues for several days after the disappearance of the symptoms of the disease. The average duration of treatment kandidamkozov and moldy fungal infections - 2-3 weeks, dermatophytosis - 2-6 weeks, pityriasis lichen - 2-3 weeks, inguinal epidermophytia - 2-4 weeks.
