Active substance - ketoconazole, an imidazole-dioxolane derivative. It has fungicidal and fungistatic action against dermatophytes (Trichophyton spp., Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum spp.), yeast fungi (Candida spp.), dimorphic fungi and eumycetes, Pityrosporum spp.
The mechanism of action is the inhibition of the synthesis of ergosterol and lipid membranes necessary for the synthesis of the cell wall of fungi (fungi lose the ability to form strands and colonies), and impair the permeability of the cell wall. Inhibits biotransformation of blastospore Candida albicans in invasive forms.
The drug is active against staphylococci and streptococci.
