Pharmacodynamics:

Ketoconazole, a synthetic derivative imidazoldioksolana has antifungal activity against dermatophytes, such as Trichophyton sp., Epidermophyton sp., Micosporum sp., and yeast-like fungi, such as Candida sp. and Malassezia furfur (Pityrosporum ovale).

Ketoconazole shows antifungal activity against Pityrosporum ovale and Pityrosporum orbiculare, causing excessive skin peeling.

Shampoo DRINKS quickly reduces peeling and itching of the scalp, which are usually associated with dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis.

Pharmacokinetics:

Absorption of active substances through the skin with local application is negligible. Since even with prolonged use, the ketoconazole content in the blood is not determined, it can be concluded that the drug does not have a systemic effect.

Indications:

Treatment and prevention of skin lesions of the scalp caused by yeast-like microorganisms Malassezia furfur (Pityrosporum ovale), such as pityriasis, seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp and various types of dandruff.

Contraindications:Shampoo is NOT suitable for any of its components.

Carefully:

As a result of clinical studies ketoconazole in the plasma is not found, however, women during pregnancy and lactation should take shampoo PERSHOTAL 2% with caution.

Dosing and Administration:

On affected areas of the skin or scalp, apply shampoo PERSHOTAL 2% for 3-5 minutes, then rinse with water.

Treatment:

- pityriasis lichen: daily use for 5 days, and in the absence of effect, it is possible to prolong the course to 7 days;

- seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp and various types of dandruff: twice a week for 1 month.

Prevention:

For prophylaxis, shampoo is used per 1%.

Side effects:

Shampoo is 2% dandruff, as a rule, is well tolerated, but local reactions can be noted:

- local skin irritation, itching and burning of the skin, increased fat content or dry hair, hair loss;

- Allergic reactions (urticaria, skin rash).

In some cases, mainly in patients with chemically damaged or gray hair, there was a discoloration of the hair.

Overdose:

When shampoo is used, the development of an overdose is not expected, since the drug is intended for external use only.

Interaction:

Drug interaction of the drug PERHOTAL with external application is not described.

Special instructions:

Avoid contact with eyes. If shampoo comes into the eyes, rinse them with water. In case of accidental ingestion, it is not recommended to induce vomiting or to use gastric lavage to prevent aspiration (ingestion of vomit into the lungs).

When combined with long-term use of glucocorticosteroids (GCS) with local medicinal forms to prevent the development of the "withdrawal" syndrome, it is recommended to use GCS in the morning and shampoo PERCHOTAL in the evening, followed by a gradual cancellation of GCS for 2-3 weeks.
