Water for injection - instructions for use, dose, side effects, contraindications

Water for injection does not have pharmacological activity. Used as a solvent and serves for the preparation of infusion and injection solutions, providing optimal conditions for the compatibility and effectiveness of substrates and water.

Pharmacokinetics:

With the introduction of constantly alternating water and electrolytes, homeostasis is maintained by the kidneys. Under normal conditions water excreted in urine, feces, with sweat and with breathing.

Indications:Dissolution and dilution of drugs for their parenteral (injectable / infusion) administration immediately before use. It is used for the preparation of sterile infusion and injection solutions from powders, lyophilizates and concentrates.

Contraindications:

Do not use to dissolve and dilute drugs for which another solvent is specified as mandatory.

Pregnancy and lactation:

The use during pregnancy and during breastfeeding is determined by the instruction of the preparation for breeding which will be applied water for injections.

Dosing and Administration:

Intravenously, intramuscularly, subcutaneously in the form of injections and infusions, as directed by the use of injection solutions, powders and dry matter for the preparation of injections.

Preparation of solutions of medicinal preparations with water for injection is carried out in aseptic conditions (opening of ampoules, filling of syringe and containers with medicinal preparations).

When mixed with other drugs (infusion solutions, concentrates for the preparation of solutions for infusion, injection solutions, powders,dry substances for the preparation of solutions for injection), visual compatibility testing is required (there may be a pharmaceutical incompatibility).

Special instructions:

Do not mix with water oily solutions for injection, external means for cauterization. Drugs, the concentration of which should be within certain limits, is diluted with water for injection only within the specified limits. Water for injections can not be directly administered intravascularly due to low osmotic pressure (risk of hemolysis!). Special control over the amount of injectable solutions prepared with water for injection is required in newborns and young children, who even with the introduction of small volumes may have violations of the water-electrolyte balance.

Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:The use of the drug does not affect the ability to perform potentially dangerous activities requiring increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions (vehicle management, work with moving mechanisms, dispatcher and operator work).

Packaging:

For 100, 250, 500 ml in polyethylene bottles without a cap or with a welded Euro cap or plastic cap or infusion plug.

For 1 bottle in a hermetically sealed packet of polymer film or without a package in a pack of cardboard box together with instructions for use.

From 1 to 96 bottles without packs in hermetically sealed bags or without packages with an equal number of instructions for use in a corrugated box (for hospitals).

Storage conditions:

In a dry place at a temperature of 2 to 25 ° C. Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf life:

2 years. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.
