Water for injection - instructions for use, dose, side effects, contraindications

Water for injection does not have pharmacological activity. Used as a solvent and serves for the preparation of injection and infusion solutions, providing optimal conditions for the compatibility and effectiveness of substrates and water.

Pharmacokinetics:

With the introduction of constantly alternating water and electrolytes, homeostasis is maintained by the kidneys.

Indications:

Dissolution and dilution of drugs for their parenteral (injectable / infusion) administration immediately before use. It is used for the preparation of sterile infusion and injection solutions from powders, lyophilizates and concentrates.

Contraindications:

Do not use to dissolve and dilute drugs for which another solvent is specified as mandatory.

Pregnancy and lactation:

Use during pregnancy and lactation is determined by indications for use the main drug.

Dosing and Administration:

Subcutaneously, intramuscularly, intravenously, intraarterially after dissolution or dilution of drugs.

The method of administration, dosage and rate of administration are determined by the instruction for the use of dissolving / diluting drugs in each specific case.

Preparation of solutions of medicinal preparations with water for injection is carried out in aseptic conditions (opening of ampoules, filling of syringe and containers with medicinal preparations).

Interaction:

When mixed with other drugs, visual compatibility testing is required (there may be a pharmaceutical incompatibility).

Special instructions:

Do not mix with water oily solutions for injection, external means for cauterization.

Drugs, the concentration of which should be within certain limits, is diluted with water for injection only within the specified limits.

Water for injection can not be administered intravascularly due to low osmotic pressure (risk of hemolysis!).

If there is a leak, the ampoule should not be used.

Special control over the amount of injectable solutions prepared with water for injection is required in newborns and young children, who even with the introduction of small volumes may have violations of the water-electrolyte balance.

Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:The use of the drug does not affect the ability to perform potentially dangerous activities requiring increased concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions (vehicle management, work with moving mechanisms, dispatcher and operator work).

Packaging:

2, 5 or 10 ml of solvent into a low-density polyethylene ampoule.On the ampoule glue a label from paper label or writing or from polymer materials, self-adhesive.

For 10, 20, 50 or 100 ampoules, connected in cassettes of 10 ampoules, together with instructions for use in a cardboard pack.

Storage conditions:
