Pharmacodynamics:

Bacteriostatic antibiotic from the group of macrolides. With external application has antibacterial and anti-acne action. Reversibly binds to 50S subunit of ribosomes, which disrupts the formation of peptide bonds between amino acid molecules and blocks the synthesis of proteins of microorganisms (does not affect the synthesis of nucleic acids). When used in high doses depending on the type of pathogen can exhibit bactericidal action.

The spectrum of action includes gram positive (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Bacillus anthracis, Corynebacterium diphtheriae) and gram-negative (Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Haemophilus influenzae, Bordetella pertussis, Brucella spp., Legionella 5рр.) Microorganisms, and also Mycoplasma spp., Chlamydia spp., Treponema spp., Rickettsia spp.

The drug is stable gram-negative rods Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Shigella spp., Bacteroides fragilis, Enterobacter spp. and etc.

Indications:

Infections of the skin and soft tissues (pustular skin diseases, including youth acne, infected wounds, pressure sores, burns II-III st, trophic ulcers).

Contraindications:

Individual hypersensitivity.

Dosing and Administration:

Externally: ointment is applied to the affected skin 2-3 times a day, the duration of treatment is -1.5-2 months.

When purulent skin and soft tissue diseases ointment is applied to the affected area of ​​the skin with a thin layer 1-2 times a day after removal of necrotic masses and pus, with burns - 2-3 times a week.

The duration of treatment depends on the form and severity of the disease and ranges from a few days to 2 weeks.

Side effects:

Perhaps the development of allergic reactions and irritating effect (redness, itching).

With prolonged use, a secondary infection caused by erythromycin-resistant microorganisms may develop.

Overdose:

Data on drug overdose are absent.

Interaction:

The drug is incompatible with lincomycin, clindamycin, chloramphenicol (antagonism).

Reduces the bactericidal action of beta-lactam antibiotics (penicillins, cephalosporins, carbopenems).

With the simultaneous use of medicinal forms of erythromycin for external use with abrasive substances, leading to excessive skin irritation, as well as with drugs that cause skin peeling, a cumulative irritating or drying effect is possible.

Special instructions:

Before using any other anti-acne medication for external use, at least one hour must pass.

If within 3-4 weeks the condition of acne does not improve, you should consult your doctor (to achieve full therapeutic effect, it may take 2-3 months.

With prolonged use, it is possible to develop superinfection.
