    Composition:

    100 g of ointment contains:

    active substance: indomethacin in terms of 100% of the substance 10 g;

    Excipients: propylene glycol, dimethylsulfoxide (dimime), macrogol-1500 (polyethylene oxide-1500), macrogol-400 (polyethylene oxide-400), urea (carbamide), racem-totol (menthol racemic), purified water.

    Description:

    Ointment from light yellow to dark yellow color with a specific smell of menthol. A greenish shade is allowed.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Indomethacin has a local anesthetic, anti-inflammatory and anti-edematic effect. With external application removes pain, reduces swelling, helps reduce morning stiffness and swelling of the joints, contributes to an increase in the volume of movements. Dimethylsulfoxide improves the penetration of indomethacin through the skin.

    Pharmacokinetics:When topical application of the ointment, the absorption of the active substance does not exceed 5%.
    Indications:
    • Pain in the back with inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the spine (radiculitis, osteoarthritis, lumbago, sciatica).
    • Pain in the joints (joints of the fingers, knees, etc.) with osteoarthritis.
    • Pain in the muscles (due to stretching, overstrain, bruises, injuries).
    • Inflammation and swelling of soft tissues and joints due to injuries and rheumatic diseases (tendovaginitis, bursitis, lesions of periarticular tissues, wrist syndrome).
    • Inflammatory diseases of the musculoskeletal system. It is intended for symptomatic therapy, reducing pain and inflammation at the time of use, the progression of the disease is not affected.
    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity to indomethacin, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or other components of the dosage form, pregnancy and lactation period, children's age (up to 6 years), violation of the integrity of the skin at the site of application, complete or incomplete combination of bronchial asthma, recurrent polyposis of the nasal mucosa and perinasal sinuses and intolerances of acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (including in the anamnesis).

    Carefully:

    Simultaneous use with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, hepatic porphyria (exacerbation), erosive-ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract,severe disorders of liver and kidneys, chronic heart failure, bronchial asthma, advanced age, hypocoagulation.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Outwardly.

    Adults and children from the age of 12 ointment is applied a thin layer on the skin of painful areas of the body 2-3 times a day for 2-3 cm (1-1.5 g).

    Children from 6 to 12 years old use no more than 1 cm of the drug no more than 2 times a day. The duration of therapy without a doctor's consultation is no more than 2 weeks.

    Side effects:

    Perhaps the development of local side effects: dry skin, rash, itching and flushing of the skin, burning.

    Possible systemic allergic reactions: angioedema, asthma attacks, photosensitization.

    Overdose:

    When using large amounts of ointment, there may be undesirable reactions. When swallowing large amounts of the drug, it is possible to develop systemic adverse reactions that are characteristic of NSAIDs. The first help consists in washing the stomach, taking activated charcoal. If necessary, hospital treatment.

    Interaction:

    Ointment can enhance the effect of drugs that cause photosensitivity.

    Clinically significant interaction with other drugs is not described.

    Ointment should be applied only to undamaged skin areas, avoid contact with eyes or mucous membranes.
