    Composition:

    100 g of gel contains:

    active substance: ketoprofen 2.5 g;

    Excipients: carbopol 940, ethanol 96% (ethanol), trolamine, nipagine (methylparahydroxybenzoate), water.

    Description:

    Transparent or slightly opalescent, homogeneous, colorless or with a yellowish shade of gel.

    Pharmacodynamics:

    Has a local anti-inflammatory, analgesic effect.

    The main mechanism of action of the drug is associated with the suppression of cyclooxygenase 1 and 2, which regulates the synthesis of prostaglandins.

    With articular syndrome, the use of the drug can reduce pain at rest and during movement, reduce morning stiffness, swelling of the joints.

    Pharmacokinetics:

    When topical application is absorbed slowly, almost does not cumulate. Bioavailability of the gel is about 5%. After application in a dose of 50-150 mg, the plasma concentration in 5-8 hours is 0.08-0.15 μg / ml. Metabolized by conjugation with glucuronic acid. Active metabolites are not formed.

    Indications:

    Disorders of the musculoskeletal system (articular rheumatism and syndrome exacerbation of gout, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, osteochondrosis with radicular syndrome, sciatica, inflammation of ligaments, tendons, bursitis, sciatica, lumbago).

    Post-traumatic inflammation of soft tissues and musculoskeletal system (injuries and ruptures of ligaments, bruises).

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity, moist dermatitis, eczema, infected abrasions, wounds, pregnancy, lactation, children's age (12 years).

    Dosing and Administration:

    Outwardly.

    Gel strip is applied to a length of 4-6 cm gentle massage to the skin to pain and inflammation.
    Duration of use without consulting a doctor is no more than 10 days.
    Side effects:

    Rarely - allergic reactions: skin hyperemia, photosensitivity, skin exanthema, purpura. In such cases, drug treatment should be discontinued.

    Itching, burning sensation at the site of application.

    Overdose:

    Extremely low systemic absorption of active components of the drug with external application makes an overdose almost impossible.

    Interaction:

    With external application of ketoprofen in the form of gel, medicinal and other interactions are not established.

    Special instructions:

    Do not apply to open wounds and inflamed skin!

    Avoid contact with eyes (dangers of irritation of the conjunctiva) and mucous membranes.

    After working with the gel, you should immediately wash your hands.

    Do not use with occlusive (airtight) dressings.

    Gel for external use 2.5%.
