Description:

Pharmacodynamics:

Dexpanthenol passes into the body in pantothenic acid (vitamin AT₅), which is an integral part of coenzyme A and participates in carbohydrate and fat metabolism: acetylation processes, in the synthesis of acetylcholine, corticosteroids, porphyrins.

Dexpanthenol has a regenerating, metabolic and weak anti-inflammatory effect (stimulates skin regeneration, normalizes cellular metabolism and increases the strength of collagen fibers).

Pharmacokinetics:

When topically applied quickly absorbed by the skin and converted to pantothenic acid, binds to plasma proteins (mainly with beta-globulin and albumin).Pantothenic acid is not metabolized in the body and is excreted unchanged.

Indications:

- Dry skin;

- violation of the integrity of the skin: abrasions, burns (including sunny);

- dermatitis, trophic ulcers;

- aseptic postoperative wounds, poorly engrafted skin grafts;

- care of the skin of infants (intertrigo).

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Pregnancy and lactation:

The drug Pantenol-Teva can be used during pregnancy and during lactation.

Dosing and Administration:

Outwardly. The drug is applied a thin layer on the affected skin areas one or more times a day. When caring for the diaper rash of the skin in infants, it is possible to apply an ointment every time the diaper is changed.

The duration of treatment depends on the characteristics of the course of the disease and the severity of the condition.

Side effects:

Possible skin allergic reactions, redness, inflammation of the skin.

Overdose:Even with a random intake of the drug inside the phenomenon of intoxication was not observed.

Interaction:

There are no data on the interaction of the drug with other drugs.

Special instructions:

When using the drug in the genital or anal areas, it should be borne in mind that, because of the presence of vaseline, contact of the drug with a condom from latex increases the risk of a condom break due to a decrease in strength and, accordingly, there is a risk of pregnancy when using such contraception.
