    Pharmacodynamics:

    Pharmacological action - local irritating, local anesthetic, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, keratoplastic, improving blood circulation in the skin. The drug has antimicrobial (bactericidal in relation to Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes) action.

    With direct action on the skin and mucous causes a slight irritation of sensitive nerve endings, followed by a decrease in their sensitivity, which leads to the appearance of reflexes that alter trophic tissue. It causes denaturation of protein molecules.

    Positive effect on the area of ​​skin inflammation and subcutaneous layers (especially when combined with alcohol): regulates vascular tone, restores blood circulation, improves metabolism. Accelerates ripening of boils.

    Pharmacokinetics:Data not provided. After application on the undamaged skin under the occlusive dressing, slowly absorbed. Systemic absorption is 5-10%. The part of thiophenol components of ichtamol that is absorbed is released in bile and is removed from the body through the intestine.
    Indications:Burns, erysipelas, eczema pyoderma (including furunculosis), and the stationary stage regressing psoriasis, neuralgia, arthritis; prostatitis, metritis, parametritis, salpingitis, salpingoophoritis and other inflammatory diseases of the pelvic organs; in urology - chronic nonspecific prostatitis.

    Pregnancy and lactation:During pregnancy and lactation, the use of the drug is possible if the potential benefit to the mother exceeds the possible risk to the fetus or the baby.
    Dosing and Administration:Locally, rectally. When skin diseases, neuralgia, arthritis are applied to the affected area in the form of rubbing (10-20%) 1-2 times a day. In inflammatory diseases of the pelvic organs - suppositories (with ichthyol - 0.2 g) or tampons (with 10% glycerol solution) 1-2 times a day; injected after cleansing enema or spontaneousabout cleansing the intestines.

    Interaction:

    Boric acid + Zinc sulfate. Zinc sulfate (in combination boric acid + zinc sulfate) is pharmaceutically incompatible with ihtamol.

    Glycerol with simultaneous application with ichtamol in the form of an ointment for external use increases the systemic absorption of ihtamol and increases the depth of its penetration into soft tissues.

    Dimethyl sulfoxide with simultaneous application with ichtamol in the form of an ointment for external use increases the systemic absorption of ihtamol and increases the depth of its penetration into soft tissues.

    Diphenhydramine + Naphazoline + Zinc sulfate. Zinc sulphate (in combination Diphenhydramine + naphazoline + zinc sulfate) is pharmaceutically incompatible with ihtamol.

    Zinc oxide. Ihtammol in the form of an ointment is incompatible with zinc oxide.

    Ethyl alcohol with simultaneous application with ichtamol in the form of an ointment for external use enhances the systemic absorption of ihtamol and increases the depth of its penetration into soft tissues.

    In solutions with ichthyol ointment alkaloids, salts of heavy metals and iodide salts are incompatible.

    It should be observed that the used dosage form is in compliance with the indications for use.

    Do not let the ointment get on the mucous membranes and eyes. After applying the ointment, wash your hands thoroughly to prevent the ointment from getting into the eyes, nose, mouth.
