Description:

Colorless, transparent jelly-like mass with a faint smell of ethanol.

Pharmacodynamics:

Has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, antiexudative and antiallergic effect.

It inhibits the release of inflammatory mediators. When exposed to the skin, the edge accumulation of neutrophils is prevented, which leads to a decrease in inflammatory exudate and production of cytokines; inhibition of migration of macrophages, reduction of infiltration and granulation.

Pharmacokinetics:Fluocinolone acetonide easily penetrates the skin through the stratum corneum. It does not undergo biotransformation in the skin and is cumulated in the stratum corneum. It is found in the skin even after 15 days from the time of its topical application. With external application fluocinolone acetonide can be absorbed to an insignificant degree and cause common phenomena. After absorption, it is metabolized mainly in the liver. In the form of compounds with glucuronic acid and in small amounts in unbound form it is secreted through the kidneys and slightly with bile.

Indications:

Inflammatory skin diseases susceptible to glucocorticosteroid therapy:
atopic dermatitis;
eczema;
seborrheic dermatitis;
psoriasis, including the scalp;
exudative erythema multiforme;
red flat herpes.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity, cutaneous manifestations of syphilis, skin tuberculosis, diaper rash, rosacea, extensive psoriatic plaques, anogenital itching; skin infections caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi; wound damage to the skin, ulcers; erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract; tumors and precancerous skin conditions; pregnancy, lactation period, children's age (up to 2 years).

Dosing and Administration:

Outwardly.

On the previously wiped with a tampon moistened with antiseptic liquid, the skin is applied a small amount of the drug 2-4 times a day and lightly rubbed. The duration of treatment depends on the nature of the disease and is usually 5-10 days. If necessary, you can impose an occlusive dressing. It is not allowed to apply under the bandage more than 2 g / day.

Flucinar® in the form of a gel is shown in the first phase of treatment (before ointment) and for the treatment of diseases of the scalp, as well as in those patients who do not tolerate the drug because of the ointment base.

The form of the gel makes it possible to apply it in small amounts, and consequently, smaller doses of the drug on a larger surface of the skin.

Side effects:

Burning, itching, steroid acne, striae, dry skin, folliculitis. With prolonged use - skin atrophy, local hirsutism, hypertrichosis, telangiectasia, purpura, skin pigmentation disorders, alopecia, especially in women, secondary immunodeficiency (exacerbation of chronic infectious diseases, generalization of the infection process, development of opportunistic infections); when applied to large surfaces, systemic manifestations are possible (gastritis, steroid stomach ulcer, adrenal insufficiency, Itenko-Cushing syndrome, steroid diabetes mellitus, slowing of reparative processes).

Overdose:

Overdose with external application is very rare.

Symptoms: itching and burning of the skin at the site of application, hyperglycemia, glucosuria, Itenko-Cushing syndrome.

Treatment: symptomatic on the background of a gradual withdrawal of the drug.

Interaction:

Compatible with antimicrobials.

Reduces the activity of antihypertensive, diuretic, antiarrhythmic drugs, drugs K +. Diuretic drugs (except potassium-sparing) increase the risk of hypokalemia.

During treatment with glucocorticosteroids, vaccination and immunization should not be carried out, due to the immunosuppressive effect of the drug.

Special instructions:

When secondary infections occur at the site of application, antibacterial or antifungal treatment should be used.

With special care apply Flucin on the face skin, as the absorption of the drug increases and the possibility of side effects increases.

Use with caution in individuals with existing atrophic skin changes, especially in the elderly.

It is recommended to wear loose clothes during treatment.

The drug does not limit psychophysical activity, the ability to drive a vehicle and service moving mechanisms.
