    Pharmacodynamics:

    Antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and mild irritating (stimulates the growth of the epithelial cover).

    Pharmacokinetics:

    When in contact with the mucous membranes, 30% turns into iodides, and the rest into active iodine. Partially absorbed. The absorbed part penetrates into tissues and organs, is selectively absorbed by the thyroid gland. It is allocated mainly by the kidneys, intestines, sweat and mammary glands.

    Indications:

    The drug is used for various inflammatory processes of the mucous membranes of the pharynx and larynx - with chronic laryngitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis.

    Contraindications:Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.
    Carefully:

    Decompensated diseases of the liver and kidneys, hyperthyroidism, herpetiform dermatitis.

    Pregnancy and lactation:

    Strictly according to the indications of the doctor.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Locally. Adults and children from the moment of birth are used to wash lacunae and supratonsillar spaces - 4-5 procedures at intervals of 2-3 days,for irrigation of the nasopharynx by 2-3 clicks on the nozzle spray 2-3 times a week for 2-3 months.

    Allergic reactions.

    The drug is well tolerated, but with prolonged use, or increased sensitivity, there may appear phenomena of iodism (rhinitis, urticaria, Quincke's edema, salivation, lacrimation, acne, muscle weakness, retardation, etc.).

    Overdose:

    Symptoms: irritation of the upper respiratory tract (burn, laryngo-, bronchospasm); when ingested - irritation of the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract, hemolysis, hemoglobinuria; lethal dose - about 3 g.

    Treatment: gastric lavage with 0.5% sodium thiosulfate solution, sodium bicarbonate solutions, intravenously sodium thiosulfate 30% to 300 ml.

    Interaction:

    Iodine is inactivated by sodium thiosulfate.

    Contained in the preparation iodine oxidizes metals, which can lead to damage to metal tools and surfaces.

    Pharmaceutically incompatible with essential oils, ammonia solutions.

    Alkaline or acidic medium, the presence of fat, pus, blood weaken antiseptic activity.

    In case of getting the drug inside, the action of the drug suppressing the thyroid gland function may decrease, and also the parameters of the thyroid function may change.

    Iodine preparations can enhance the irritating effect of certain drugs (including acetylsalicylic acid) on the mucosa of the gastrointestinal tract.

    Special instructions:

    Sunlight and temperatures above 40 ° C accelerate the decay of active iodine.

    The length of the course of treatment depends on the nature of the disease and its severity.

    Applying Lugol's solution for children should be especially careful. Often, touching the back of the larynx causes vomiting.

    With prolonged use, the phenomena of iodism are possible.

    At 25, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 100 g of the drug in orange glass bottles (vials of glass, bottles of polymeric vials of polyethylene, bottles with a brush or spray nozzle).
