    Pharmacodynamics:The drug has alkaline properties, increases alkaline reserves of blood; increases the release of sodium, chlorine ions and increases osmotic diuresis.
    Indications:

    Diseases accompanied by metabolic acidosis: infectious diseases, diabetes, intoxications,including drug (barbiturates, salicylates, etc.), with kidney disease, during anesthesia and in the postoperative period.

    Contraindications:

    Hypersensitivity, metabolic alkalosis.

    Dosing and Administration:

    Intravenously drip in pure form or diluted in other infusion solutions. Adults with acute developing acidosis have 50- 100 ml of 8.4% solution. Children depending on their age and body weight.

    The average dose from 2 to 5 mEq / kg (2-5 ml / kg) is administered within 4 to 8 hours. For children under 2 years, the maximum dose of 8 mE / kg (8 ml / kg) of body weight per day.

    It is necessary to control the acid-base state of the blood.

    Side effects:

    Prolonged daily administration of the drug can lead to alkalosis (sometimes uncompensated), accompanied by loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, anxiety, headaches, and in severe cases tetanic convulsions. It is possible to increase blood pressure.

    In these cases, it is necessary to take a break in the use of the drug.

    Effect on the ability to drive transp. cf. and fur:Sodium bicarbonate enhances the effect of antihypertensive drugs; should be used with caution to patients,taking corticotropin; avoid adding calcium-containing solutions, except for cases with established compatibility; reduces the absorption and concentration of doxycycline in the blood plasma. The drug is incompatible with solutions: ascorbic acid, cisplatin, codeine phosphate, dobutamine, dopamine, magnesium sulfate, norepinephrine bitartrate, potassium salt of penicillin G, streptomycin sulfate, tetracycline. Sodium bicarbonate is not recommended for taking drugs with acid reaction and salts of alkaloids.

    Solution for infusions 8,4 %.
