    Composition:licorice roots
    Description:
    Pieces of ground unrefined roots and underground shoots, passing through a sieve with holes of 7 mm. When examining under the magnifier the surface of untreated roots and shoots slightly wrinkled slightly, covered with a brown stopper; fracture light yellow, fibrous. The shoots have a small core, the roots of the core do not.
    The smell is absent. The taste of water extract is sweet, sugary, slightly irritating.

    Pharmacodynamics:
    Licorice roots contain glycyrrhizic acid, licurazide, liquidoritoside, flavonoids, mucous and other biologically active substances.



    Decoction of the roots of licorice has an expectorant and anti-inflammatory effect.
    Indications:In the complex therapy of infectious-inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract (mainly in the presence of poorly separated, thick and viscous secretions); hyperacid gastritis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum (as part of complex therapy).
    Contraindications:Hypersensitivity to the drug, pregnancy, the period of breastfeeding; children under 1 year.
    Dosing and Administration:
    About 8 g (2 tablespoons) of crushed roots are placed in enameled pots, poured into 200 ml (1 glass) of boiled water, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 30 minutes, cooled at room temperature for 10 minutes, filtered, the remaining raw material is squeezed . The volume of the resulting broth is brought to 200 ml with boiled water.
    Adults and children over 12 years are prescribed inside 1 tablespoon 3-4 times a day. Children from 1 year to 3 years - 1 teaspoon 2-3 times a day, 3 to 5 years - 1 dessert spoon 2-3 times a day, 5 to 12 years - 1 dessert spoon 3-4 times in a day. The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks. It is recommended to stir the broth before use.

    Overdose:
    With prolonged use with excess of the indicated dosages, it is possible to increase arterial pressure, hypokalemia, the appearance of peripheral edema due to water-salt metabolism.

    Interaction:
    The use of the drug is not recommended with antitussive drugs containing codeine, t. this makes it difficult for the diluted sputum to escape.

    Special instructions:
    The use of the drug does not affect the performance of potentially hazardous activities requiring special attention and quick reactions (vehicle management, work with moving mechanisms).
